I don't quite know where to go with this review. We had booked a hotel room online and drove about 2 hours up here to stay the night at this hotel, and in the morning, go on some orv trails and ride our atv's. When we got here, the place immediately looked sketchy. The sign was missing some letters, and didn't look presentable or approachable. However, we still gave it a try. After parking, we had knocked on the door several times to find out no one was at the front door to help us get our key. It was only 9 PM at night, and wasn't very late to be checking in. After that, we tried another method--calling. No one answered the phone either. We ended up knocking some more until a person finally came out. He had a pretty heavy accent, which made it difficult to understand him, but that's alright, since we all can't choose our accents. He told us that all of the other 8 rooms were booked even though we didn't see any cars there in the parking lot, and took us into a room where he said that the people before us had visited and trashed the room, so he attempted to clean the room on various occasions. He told us his attempts failed, but the place is otherwise clean with a horribly bad stench, and that we had the choice if we wanted to stay here or not for the night. Deciding not to stay the night, we ended up leaving, and we will be getting a refund. I wouldn't recommend this motel to anyone, nor visit again. I am giving this place a 2 star rating out...
Read moreA small and quaint family owned motel with 9 rooms. The rooms are very affordable, clean and spacious. Our room had great water pressure for a fantastic shower as well as other nice amenities. A mini fridge, air conditioning, microwave, free wifi and a flat screen television were all in great working order along with two very comfortable Queen size beds.
The owner and his young son are two of the absolute nicest folks you could ever hope to deal with.
Unfortunately my young daughter and myself had trouble with our motorcycle and had to wait for a tow. They allowed us to stay in our room the extra time past our checkout for free because he felt sympathy for us. He also recommended a great little family owned restaurant that was only about a block away and it was delicious.
There are far more nice people left in this world rather than jerks and the gentleman that owns and operates the Intown Inn is a perfect example. We strongly recommend his...
Read moreHow this place got 5 stars is absolutely baffling. This is a very sketchy place. I saw broken windows, trash, dirty towels, and furniture everywhere. Generally a slummy, scary atmosphere from the outside. We were tired from driving all day, and thought since the other reviewers who posted thought this place was great, there must be some hidden redeeming quality. We decided to ask to see the room before deciding. The owner was very rude to us, but agreed to let us look...there are no words. The rooms were scummy, dated, and in disrepair. When we decided not to stay, the owner told us (over his scotch) that was fine with him, because I would be charged anyway for the room, since I supplied my credit card to secure my reservation! Luckily, Booking.com agreed to cancel my reservation without charging me, and I was free to find another, respectable...
