Simple Simon's Pizza — Restaurant in Star City

I am not from this area but come here often to camp. We have always loved our trip to Simple Simons every time we do come. The last two times we visited the owner was not working and it makes a huge difference in the food. The girl running it during the day was rude and refused to make fresh pizzas unless all the cold ones were eaten. We waited an hour for more people to show up and us and the only other couple in there from the beginning requested certain pizzas and when they were done she put on the bar and people that had just walked in got the nice hot pizzas. The owner would’ve come given us some slices before he put on the bar. Both visits one or the other of the two varieties of lettuce was old and slimy. The first time I said something and she smarted off that she’d just opened the bag so the second time I just ate the other variety. This is my first visit to Simon's. I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised! The store is clean and organized, the restrooms were clean and the dining area was clean with an upscale sports themed decor. The cashier was very pleasant and patient while making recommendations and taking my order. I ordered the chicken ranch sandwich and a Super 10 pizza. My sandwich is to die for! The bread is warm and moist with a nice toasted crust. The chicken is moist and the cheese and bacon were perfect. The pizza had a thin crust but still supported the large amount of ingredients on it. It has the perfect balance of ingredients. I highly recommend Simon's. That is saying something coming from someone who has spent 40 years in food quality and food facility...

I have been very impressed with this place. I’m a traveling superintendent so I eat out quite a bit. Hands down the owner makes the experience worth your while, I own a hospitality business in Florida and trust me when I tell that this individual is as hospitable as they come. The food is great especially the wings, but what really sets this place apart is the owners mentality and eagerness to satisfy his customers!
