MIKE & MARIO'S ITALIAN RESTAURANT — Restaurant in Staunton

i was really looking forward to trying this new restaurant. on 2 separate occasions i called to place an order for delivery. the first time they explained that i am 3.9 miles away and they didn't have a driver in during lunch who could get it to me... found that odd but ok. so i tried again a few days later during dinner hours i was told sorry were too busy right now could you pick it up? i honestly didn't give them a chance to finish talking... i called back to speak with a manager to express they upset me before i was going to leave this review. she told me sorry were a small business and we will deliver but we try to keep deliveries close by so we can keep delivery times down for other customers if you'd like to place your order it would be over an hour... im 3.9 miles away according to google. from Churchville ave to Richmond rd... i just ordered from LITTLE MARIAS FROM VERONA and they say they will be here in 30-40 minutes. im very disappointed. i couldn't tell you how there food was and probably never will because it sounds more like they just didn't WANT to...

When you call and ask for delivery, you get the same response, “We’re not delivering today”. Their food is mediocre at best. Small servings for the price. I try to support mom and pop businesses, but apparently they don’t want the business. There are very few options in the area, but I cannot support this business. If you visit in person, you will see that the restaurant is run by teenagers. My experiences with the customer service is nothing short of rude. I stopped by about a month ago while on my way home from work. I ordered a small cheese pizza and a side order of calamari. Out of the 6 people that were there, 4 were on their phones almost the entire time. Needless to say, I waited 45 minutes for my food. The individual who brought me my food said he was sorry, he didn’t realize the food was already finished. Decided today to give the restaurant another chance. I don’t ever feel the need to leave reviews, but the lady who answered the phone was extremely rude. I will never support this restaurant...

I really enjoy this restaurant. We usually pick up our order because we live about a mile away. While waiting for my order to be completed (if I get there too early) the dining room is always clean. I have seen the employees clear a table almost as soon as the people left. We have ordered soup, salad, pasta, pizza, and subs and everything has been wonderful. The employees are always polite and helpful. The owners are very friendly. They employ teenagers and I have had good experiences from them. The thing that we order most often is pizza. We have tried multiple places in the area and everybody makes the pizza soooo greasy. This is the only place that DOES NOT. This is our go-to place...
