Greenwood Saloon — Restaurant in Stephenville

It has been about 2 + years since I was last there and I have been there probably around 6 times. It is a cool place out of the way that has a good western rustic ambiance to it. Back then beers were kind of high $3.75 and when you add a tip on top that $3.75 it adds up quickly, it cost $1.00 to play a single song on the Juke box which to me is way high. I would imagine the beer or Juke box has not gotten any cheaper since my last visit. Out of the 4 or so bands I have heard there only one was pretty good, the others were well not very good at all especially for the amount of $$ cover charge unless they have drastically improved on the talent of the bands they have playing there now. After you have been there more than twice the novelty of the western setting wears off and it becomes just another bar. Good place to stop in and have a beer or two if you happen to be in the area, but I would not go out of your way...

Wow….super cool. We all work our butts off and in our 50s. Decided to do something different and go see what this was all about. Got there with our other married couple to check out the live music. Totally impressed. We will be back to unwind. One thing is the bartender made a joke about my friend in front of a bar full of people and humiliated her. People were laughing and bartender made a spectacle. The situation could have been handled with a little more kindness and understanding since we had never been here before but the way she handled it was by far rude and unprofessional and it did affect my friend. No business should make a consumer feel that way and I hope she handles it differently next time. We will definately not let that ruin our experience and will be back for sure. Love visiting the Greenwood after eating our fill of shrimp, oysters, crawfish and boudin at Wilfong's. The Greenwood is a 51% bar, so leave your gun outside.
