Empire Grill — Restaurant in Sterling Heights

Had the Ruben, was good but...., could’ve used more sauerkraut and normally, cheese on bottom, then corned beef then kraut. This prevents the bread from getting soggy when the krauts on the bottom. Always serve Kraut on top otherwise no fun eating Ruben with the bread sagging/breaking off!! Other two in my party had great pancakes and burger/Fry’s. My onion rings were good. Very clean inside with new kitchen equipment and everyone is friendly. Am trying breakfast tomorrow.

Update: empire Greek breakfast skillet was great according to wife. My friend and I had the large empire breakfast with three eggs, two sausage, ham, two bacon & toast with hash browns that were actually sliced thin potatoes. The potatoes were dry and blah with no taste. The bacon was hard like almost at the jerky point. Everything else was good. Friend and I both decided that we’ll stick with our usual place where the hash browns are awesome and they include onions if you like for free, along with their bacon is cooked to order, plus you get four eggs, two sausage, two bacon, one spicy sausage patty, two pancakes, juice and toast for much cheaper. I may be back for dinner every now and then but we’ll see how that goes after watching more reviews. Initial appearances are nice. Everything appears to be clean and well maintained. In our party of 2, we had a ham and cheese omelette and scrambled eggs. Both were very good with one small exception. A few pieces of the ham in the omelette were slightly chewy. It was a fairly minor issue and didn't detract too much from the overall quality of the omelette. The service started out a bit rough as the server was angry (and it showed) after being chewed out by someone who was presumably the owner. I put most of the blame on the owner for doing this within ear shot of the entire restaurant. He was not speaking english but he sounded very angry and finished it off with a curse in english. This was our first visit here as we have someplace that we regularly go for breakfast but we thought we would give this a try as they are fairly highly rated. If not for the unprofessionalism of the owner, we might come back again. I ordered a club sandwich. When it came I was surprised. I have never been to a restaurant where they use off the bone turkey. It looked dry unseasoned and not appetizing. The quesdilla has 2 ingredients cheese and chicken no grilled onions peppers nothing once again dry. We asked for the club sandwich to get taken off the bill and the manager flipped out blaming the customer for not asking what type of meat it is. The whole restaurant had 4 tables filled only.
