After being highly disappointed with the Sterling Korean fried chicken scene, I decided to give this new place a shot with my fingers crossed, as I noticed them finally being open when I drove by and I'm glad that I did!
Upon walking in, I was greeted and welcomed immediately! The guy behind the counter was very attentive and helpful and answered all questions and gave solid recommendations.
I of course got the wings which I highly recommend, perfectly fried and hand painted with the sauce and airy, I got the half and half so I got to try both sauces.
The soy garlic was great, perfect for those that aren't down with spicy, and the spicy was spicy, a good spice though, made with herbs not just a hot sauce or chemical taste, it was actual ingredients... but what really blew my mind and taste buds were the mozzarella sticks! They are a must try, my son was recommending them to everyone walking in, he was their biggest "influencer", as they call them these days.
Definitely give them a try, you shouldn't get...
Read moreThe host Dillon (I hope I’m spelling this right, forgive me) was so great and warm he greeted me as I entered the store. I came to pick up my online order, to which he made adjustments happily due to the need to add more items for me. This is by far the best location they have. I was given a fresh “taster” as they came out of the fryer and sauced, which I cannot express how amazing and thoughtful this was, while I waited for my pickup order. Everything was great, though the chicken traveled better than the mandu (of course I knew I would have some bit of sog, but much less than anticipated!). I must say the crisp on the wings really baffled me with how juicy they were, such perfection in the cooking and flavoring/saucing. I also must give Dillon his due kudos for his generous hospitality and just overall great demeanor with customers, staff and I’m sure he’s personally a great person to hang with! I will be coming in to try the AYCE menu on weekends, details in the picture...
Read moreMy friend and I had a very nice lunch of their 1/2 and 1/2 fried chicken wings with rice and kimchi. We asked about the kimchi slaw and I kind of wrinkled my nose as it was described as slaw with kimchi sauce. They said it was very popular, but I opted for the traditional kimchi side, instead. They surprisingly gave us a free serving of the kimchi slaw anyway, to try, and I was a bit impressed! The fried chicken was fresh, juicy, meaty and hot - cooked to order.
This restaurant does mostly take out it seems, so we had the whole place to ourselves for a while. I would have liked the traditional kimchi to be spicier, but it was still tasty! I am SO glad this little place had soju and some other adult beverage offerings to wash it all down! I will be back to try the other items on the menu, but the fried chicken does definitely rival Bon Chon and it's right in my...
