This whole area has a bit of character, following a sort of English, high society theme. The bar itself is pretty standardish with a decent patio. Staff is friendly and the prices are very fair. The taps are pretty standard with some craft beers mixed in with the regular domestics.
The food was very good. I had the Firecracker Burger and asked for medium, and it was actually medium. The burger had great flavor and was $9 (no fries).
Sides are a la carte. We got the onion rings and fries. The fries are crispy steak fries and we're great for trying out all the dipping sauces. The onion rings are heavily battered and are crispy! You only get 4 giant onion rings for a half order.
The dipping sauces were what string a chord with me. I love variety and uniqueness and that's what they brought to the table with these dipping sauces. They have 18 types and I tried:
Gunpowder remoulade (best sauce of the 6! Great lil bit of heat and good flavor) Thai chili (great flavor mix) Avocado ranch (tastes like 90% ranch) Truffle mayo (very light flavor) Balsamic mayo (tastes like watered down balsamic) Papaya habnero (tastes like a chutney and not toto much hest for habnero)
Also, the fries come with Fite sauce, which is like Mayo and Ketchup and something else(?), and that's a decent sauce too.
Overall, a great lil spot for some post-round...
Read moreWe stopped in around 2PM on a Sunday. It was very slow - there were only a few other tables filled in our section.
Our server wasn’t too friendly from the beginning. My wife asked if they could do a side salad (common at restaurants even if it’s not on the menu) and the server pointed us to the house salad for $10. No problem - we’ll pass on that.
I was trying to decide between fries and broccoli for my side, so I asked how big the side of broccoli was. She said it was a “decent sized bowl” and said it was a lot, so I ordered it.
What I got was literally 4 pieces of broccoli in a small bowl. I apologized and said I’d been hoping it would be a bit larger, and wondered if I could get fries instead. Server scowled, didn’t say a word, took the broccoli away and went to order the fries.
No apology or kind words or anything. I don’t even care about paying $6 for a bit of broccoli, but don’t tell me it’s a lot if it’s clearly not! And at least try to be friendly.
This place is overpriced for what you get and they seem to have an attitude. Not...
Read moreDO NOT EAT ON THIS PATIO. The servers are aware which pests bother each table. Started off at the bee table (literally had 7 of them swarming us), then we were moved to a different table on the patio (this one was infested with flies once the food showed up). The waitress moved us inside. Fantastic service, average food for the price, terrible ownership from the patio perspective. It's like you're eating next to the dumpsters with the amount of flies and bees. The fact your servers know this and management hasn't done anything to address the issue is the problem here. If it's an issue that you can't do anything about, just don't seat people out there, or be honest about what they'll be experiencing when you're seating them so you have set your guest's expectations. It's Summer, everyone loves eating outside (we get it, there will be bugs) on patios, and I have not had this bad of an experience at any other restaurant this season. Also, a side note-don't serve burgers stacked high with toppings on tiny plates. Overall, a very...
