Trellis Outdoor Wedding Ceremonies — Attraction in Stillwater

I contacted Trellis about a small intimate ceremony at their place. One of the first questions I asked was if we could have more people than the limit of six because we wanted to extend the invite to our siblings only, but didn't expect all to show. The owner told me absolutely that could be done. We settled on a date that worked for both Trellis and us and were excited to sign a contract and pay. Today the owner emailed me to call her and when I did she told me she would not allow that number of people (contradicting her previous statement). She said only if I purchased more time at the venue would it be allowed. I told her we could get it done in the allotted time as agreed and she said no only if I bought more time, she doesn't want my special day rushed. It felt like a money grab wrapped in a sweet statement. We will not be booking here or recommending it. My preferred outcome would have been for the owner to offer us an extra 15 minutes if she had concerns about our day or say no to the additional 6 people straight off the bat so I would have pursued other options earlier.

EDIT: it was not a suggestion from the owner to have more time for a better experience - I was not allowed to book the one hour at Trellis. She said they can't do that. I was unable to explain that we don't plan on having a photographer so the concerns from a previous bad customer are...

I cannot find enough amazing things to say about this place! We were searching for an outdoor space for a small, sunset ceremony and Trellis did not disappoint! While they also accommodate larger ceremonies, they ensured our intimate group felt cozy and utilized the grounds to set up a magical setting full of twinkle lights, lanterns, and even let me bring in a few extra decorations/ favors to add my touch to our day. Not only were the grounds beautiful, but the staff made the experience that much better! Kelsey was a dream to work with— she was not only professional, but incredibly sweet and friendly to work with. Kelsey was AMAZING! Seriously, I could not recommend this place enough. A few of my bridesmaids (one getting married in 1 month and the other in 3 months) even joke about switching over to Trellis for their ceremony because of how wonderful it is. Trellis is the most beautiful hidden garden-esque spot for any event. Our photographer had a hayday with pictures in the cottage and all over the grounds. Also, pricing, for what this place offers it feels almost too good to be true. From start to finish, Kelsey has been so beyond helpful in every step of the way.
