Albatross Public House and Pizzeria — Restaurant in Stockbridge

My mom and I visited on yesterday, and the food was awesome! The pork skins and fried brussel sprouts were delicious, and my burger was cooked just right. Hats off to the chef! I did have a couple of issues though. First issue was with the service. Our waitress Kristen was pleasant but extremely slow. There was only me and my mom there, another gentleman and another table of about 5 people who were almost finished eating when we arrived. It took Kristen 10 minutes to bring my mom and I a glass of water. Then after that, it took another 10 minutes to take our order. The food took another 20-30 min. When we got ready to leave, my mom had to go to the bar to ask Kristen to bring our check. As a side note, Kristen wasnt working the bar but spent a lot of time talking to the bartender and other co-workers versus attending to customers. It would have been a disaster (service wise) had it been busy. Lastly, skip ordering the sangria. There was more ice than wine in it, and we had to send it back to have it sweetened because it was bitter. The glass was also kind of small, so wasnt worth the $8 in my opinion. Just my observation. Ordered a delivery here for the first time tonight. After all the hype and referrals from others in the area sharing positive reviews, we decided to give them a shot for carry out pizza. After all, pizzeria is in their name so it should be good right? Don’t think so. Pizza was soggy, greasy, flavorless, and otherwise just disappointing. I can cook a better pizza on my Big Green Egg at home. I get the idea that this is just another dive bar gimmick. Good luck Albatross. We won’t be back.

Update......The owners administrative assistant contacted me a few days after review. She ask that I email her my contact information. I gladly gave her my information and she contacted me. I indicated I wished to speak with the owner(s) about my food quality. She told me she would forward my information to them and they would be in contact with me soon. It’s now been five days no contact from the owner. I even emailed her after 2 days and she stated she did indeed let them know I wanted to speak with them. Just there , second visit. Tried the brick oven pizza, jalapeno poppers, fried brussel sprouts. I enjoyed all. Sat at bar & watched pizzas being dressed, wish the view were more entertaining.
