I went to china Kong a couple days ago and was extremely disppointed. I ordered my food which was a shrimp egg roll and shrimp/chicken fried rice. When my order came I didn’t anticipate for the rice to be yellow rice, nor did I expect the rice to still be hard after it was cooked. The chicken had slight rubbery texture when I bit into it. At the point of eating the chicken I informed the cashier that I would like something different since I’d already paid. He was keen on arguing with me based off of my opinion about the food so I simply asked that I get 2 additional egg rolls in exchange for the meal I returned. The order cost slightly over $10, but I ultimately paid $10 for 3 egg rolls. While standing at the register I noticed that the same shrimp that I had ordered in my shrimp rolls had been sitting out when I initially made my order several minutes ago. That very night I was extremely sick. Just as soon as I walked out of the restaurant I knew that I would never be eating at China Kong again. The customer service was poor and the food was worse. Read moreI live right on Rex Rd. and the fine folks out here need a good Asian play to eat within a close distance without going to Mt. Zion (eessh). Chinese / Cantonese style cooking inside of a "mom and pop" family business, located off of Hwy 42 and Rex. Its perfect since it is right up the street along with the New Family Dollar. As far as taste go. This place is pretty great! I had my doubts at first because bad experiences from "little" businesses that just can't get it right, but I tried it anyway. The cooking is on point and good as the Asia guy there is a great cook (He always wears a backward hat) and I never been disappointed in the food. The Wonton there is like no other. I can't find it anywhere but there. This place is really a diamond in the rough, since it's easily passed up or unnoticed.
My fav dishes: Chicken / Shrimp / Beef (recommended) fried rice. Beef & Broccoli w/ or w/o fried rice (wonderful) Wonton soup...

I called and asked if they had any vegetarian option soups (since there is no online menu and I wanted to just pick up and go about my business). The lady answered the phone, I asked my question and she just flat out stopped talking smh. I said hello 3 times and no answer. And no I wasn't on hold, I could hear everything in the background. If that's the level of professionalism they display on simply taking an order I'll pass....
