Read moreI was really craving some authentic African food and decided to give this place a try. I originally ordered the Ofro Riro, but due to a misunderstanding with the young cashier who appeared to be a child I ended up with Egusi instead. When I pointed out the mix-up, he mentioned that I had asked about the most popular dish, which is Egusi. That was true, but I also mentioned that I usually order Egusi and wanted to try something different this time.

The texture was a tragic mix of burnt and rubbery, and the flavor clung to my tongue like a bad memory. Even my drink couldn’t wash away the taste of disappointment.
If this was meant to be “smoky,” someone needs to tell the chef that there’s a difference between smoked and incinerated.
