I visited Yogi Korean BBQ along with my friend on Tuesday, 8/8/23, during lunchtime. I was very excited to see an AYCE Korean BBQ restaurant open in Stockton.
Pros: -The service was friendly. -The food such as the cheese corn, pork belly meat, and ramen was decent. -The salad bar had a variety of options. The egg rolls were good.
Cons: -Meat options are extremely limited during lunchtime. -I didn't come here for dinner. However, the dinner prices of $37 or $50 for one person seem a bit steep to me. -I ordered a few items and it never came to the table. -The steamed eggs did not taste great at all. It did not have the light and fluffy texture I was looking for. Plus, the taste reminded me of liquid eggs. -I was double-charged by a server. Here's the story below:
Toward the end of lunch, my friend and I decided to split the bill. We both placed our credit cards down and gave them to the server. The server came back to the table and asked, "Who's card is who's again." We both informed her. Initially, I thought that was a bit strange, especially since she took both cards back again. We finally paid and signed our receipts.
A few days later, I noticed on my statement that I was charged twice. I decided to call the restaurant before I had to dispute the charges with my bank. The manager told me that my friend's card was never charged and the server swiped my card twice. He also told me to reach out to my friend to get the money and resolve the issue. Nothing was offered to me for the inconvenience.
It was truly unfortunate for me to reach out to my friend for payment. I'm sorry but servers should not make silly mistakes like this.
Overall, some of the food was fine but I definitely had better from other places. Plus, the way how I was handled by management for my card being charged twice was unacceptable. Personally, I...
Read moreIgnore any bad reviews about this place and let your own experience speak for itself. My friend from South Korea was yearning for some good Korean BBQ and found Yogi. She thought it would be a good choice based on the menu items and how the restaurant was set up as it was very traditional to korean bbqs in South Korea.
We went around dinner time for the premium dinner and we had about a 20 minute wait to be seated which was fine. When we were seated we ordered our first 3 meats and checked out the salad bar. Keep in mind this is not like an American salad bar this is more common side dishes in Korea plus sauces/dips/condiments for youre main food (white rice, fried chicken, japchae, ssamjang, garlic, sesame oil, cilantro salad, etc. the pictures are of this salad bar).
We were a bit off when our first order of meats took a long time to come out (40-50 minutes) but we were explained that it was due to them having to prep the premium cuts we ordered and how busy they were at the moment. They were very pleasant about everything and honestly if you’re with good company the time doesn’t feel so long.
Once the food came out and we started eating we were so happy with every bite we took. The meat was perfect and fresh no matter what we ordered. Staff were very helpful with adjusting our temperature on the grill, changing the pans, and adding water to the grill underneath if needed. They do also have staff that speak Korean if that is important to you for ease of ordering. It definitely made my friend happy since she could ask questions properly.
We ended up being stuffed at our 2 hour mark, but they had told us already that due to the long wait we would have extra time if we went past the 2 hours. We drove from Modesto for this restaurant and will happily come back when we’re feeling Korean bbq. 10/10 on all aspects...
Read moreI had a taste for Korean BBQ. So i decided to support my local restaurant where I live. My Job i 15 minutes away from Yogi Korean BBQ. I arrive here about 1pm. I walked in and the place was totally empty even though the shared parking lot was filled with vehicles.
Two VERY friendly ladies at the reception desk. I walked up and asked for a table for one (1). One of the ladies informed me that the all you can eat Salad Bar is ONLY for a party of two (2) or more. 😳😳
I then agreed to the house rules, but then she said it will only be self grill food only not full menu. I felt a bit embarrassed that I drove all this way back to my neighborhood where I live and pay property taxes and I was determined to support this Empty Restaurant. I graciously declined and thanked thembfor their time.
This seemingly discriminating house rule especially in Stockton during lunch time where it is very normal for one (1) person to take a lunch break and go to a eatery. The restaurant at 1PM was empty and no offer/exceptions were made. Now I understand the three (3) stars out of five (5).
Im not sure how long this restaurant plans to stay in business here in Stockton but I see Red Flags all over this.. Empty restaurant lets Revenue Walk Out The Door. The one star is NOT for the food, just my first time experience here. However I will return with the Family and post a more detailed experience!
I took my $30.00 down the street to Fire Wings and had a...
