I donât even know where to start so I will begin with the only positive about this experience. The view was absolutely stunning and this is the only reason I gave any stars. We arrived 40 minutes early which was on us. The hostess said she could not seat us and told us to go wait until the table was ready. As we sat there we watched her seat people that didnât even have a reservation- ours was for 1 PM. A little after 1:00 my husband went to ask her what was going on. She had forgotten about us which is amazing seeing as though we were right within her view and exactly where she told us to wait which was across from her. We proceeded to sit down at a great table with a phenomenal view which was very much appreciated after such a long wait. . My son ordered the mac & cheese and we didnât even see any cheese in it. My husband ordered a salad with chicken and the chicken was dry. I ordered the tomato basil pesto Panini and it was horrific. The sandwich was soggy and literally dripping liquid, there was no basil pesto on it, and the mozzarella was in a huge chunk. I didnât eat any of it except for one bite and the small salad that came with it. I did not expect a gourmet meal but for $15 I expected something better than what I have made at home or purchased at a coffee shop. If youâre going for the view or right after skiing it may be worth it to go there but if youâre going for a decent meal â best to skip this place. They are the only restaurant up on the mountain in that area so thereâs no competition and perhaps this is why they donât care. The restaurant is pretty much self service. You look at the menu, go up and order and then they bring the food to your table and you donât see anyone else again. No one comes by your table during your meal but I can understand why- very...
Read moreBeen going to the Cliff House for the past 12 of the last 14 years. Our party was taken aback at the drastic and unwelcoming changes that have been made. When we first started enjoying the Cliff House we were serve table side by attentive waitstaff, our food was served on very nice China-like plates (not like the aluminum trays and earthenware use today) and the menu was several pages (unlike the one page today). Today - everything changed. Once seated by our hostess, we were informed of our table number and when we are ready to order drinks and food we were to walk to the bar to place an order. Our food would be delivered when ready. In our party of four, the spicy bean burger was inedible, the shrimp taco was rubbery, the Zuggie Panini was a disaster. There was nearly zero time between appetizers being delivered to the table and our entrees following a few minutes later. By the way, when is the last time you ordered a beer from the bar and got a can without a glass?? This restaurant went from a very special day (where I did not mind spending a lot of money for the quality of food) to a walk-up cafeteria suitable for elementary school. The entire experience was a waste of time. Only gave it 2 stars because of what I remember it used to be. Should have been lower! So sad - it was such a nice...

Atmosphere not worth the hype: We made a prior reservation for a table for 4, but when we went in and asked for the tables with the view down the mountain (there were 5 empty tables for 4 in that area) the hostess said they were taken by âa big groupâ and other reservations. Those tables were empty up until an hour later, and when we were leaving, one table was still left empty, no big group was seated as well.
Poor service: One kind server greeted us at our table at the start, and after we ordered and paid at the counter and closed out the tab, no one came to check on us at all for the next hour. After about 15min the afternoon sun was burning on us at our table and we were visibly uncomfortable, yet no one even came close to asking us if we were ok and it was so hard to get the servers attention. When we gave feedback about the sun to the server clearing our table at the end, she just brushed it off and said that this windowâs afternoon sun...
