Subway — Restaurant in Strong City

Please refrain from dining at this establishment as I observed a lack of handwashing practices upon my initial entry. Upon entering, I noticed a lady mopping the floor. She paused her task, proceeded to serve me in line to prepare my sandwich, and put on gloves. When I kindly requested for her to wash her hands, she hesitated and mentioned that she had washed them earlier. I pointed out that she was merely holding a mop, prompting her to finally wash her hands before continuing to make my sandwich. Another lady emerged from the back and also put on gloves without washing her hands. When I inquired about handwashing, she defensively stated that she had been cooking all day and did not need to wash her hands as she had gloves on. I mentioned the importance of washing hands before putting on gloves, but she insisted it was not store policy and reiterated that she had been cooking all day. I then requested for the lady who had washed her hands to make my sandwich, to which the other lady agreed and went to the back to eat while handling bread from the oven. Seems I can't reply to a review, Virginia ricenos that's the manager you're talking about and she works every single day. She is beyond nice. What I'm assuming is you went in, she either couldn't understand you or you were being highly rude.. such as being on your phone when someone is trying to do their job and serve you. Customer service is by far one of the hardest jobs in the industry and that's simply because the public are customers and are often extremely rude themselves. We are in a secluded area here, and in this economy people would rather collect government funds than work. In the spirit of transparency I have to tell you that I currently work at this particular restaurant. I frequented the store quite a bit before I got hired to work here. My experiences eating meals here has always been a pleasant and fulfilling experience. The workers are always cheerful and what some crew members lack in experience they make up with personality. The ingredients are always fresh and top shelf and is quite honestly the meals at subway are best value for your dollar in this area. Now back to my first statement. I enjoyed getting my meals here so much that I applied for a position as a Subway artist. That's about the best endorsement I believe I can give...
