The pizza sauce is awesome! (I guess that would make it awesome sauce! )

But seriously, I was looking for a pizza place close to my new house. I found one I liked, which was more of a hike than I wanted. On this particular day and hour, it was closed. So I remembered passing Mama Julianne's on Prospect Rd going to and from Strongsville.

I ordered online while at my mom's, 25 minutes away. When I got there, I parked right in front and went in. They said it would be a few more minutes, so I took a seat on the bench at the front window. There were 2 other people there, and I conversed with them. They have friendly customers!

The shop was clean with nice decor. No one seemed to mind waiting, and I understand why now! Mama Julianne's pizza and bread sticks were soooo delicious!!! Usually, when I get bread sticks, I eat them plain, but the sauce was so delicious, this time, I ate them with the sauce. I also told my husband, when he took a bread stick, "you're gonna want the sauce!"

If this place didn't have fresh mushrooms, I would've kept looking for another pizza place. Not only do they have fresh mushrooms, but if you prefer canned, they have those too!!! Usually, it's a guessing game with pizza shops. I order and wonder, " Are the mushrooms going to be fresh or canned?" LOL!

I can't believe I found this place so quickly! I am picky when it comes to pizza, but this will be my go-to place now. They also have some daily specials; if you look at my photos, you'll see them. They're painted...

This is literally one of those hidden gems you wish you knew of sooner. Fantastic pizza - every part of the pizza construction (if you're a foodie) is thought out so that it works together as a composed and awesome bite, every time. Sauce and crust work together; toppings are well thought out in portion and cut. People there are typical for this area - not over friendly and not rude... Just what you'd expect if you've lived in Ohio for a minute. They recently redid the interior a bit, so the pickup area is new and rustic. Have ordered many times and they know my face - it's that kind of place. Walk in and no words exchanged, front of house just goes in the back and picks my pie off the oven and hands it to me. I've returned from New York City and would love it if they'd make a near-authentic pie of that type, would be a dream come true because I know they'd get it close!

Good online menu ordering experience. It was revised in 2023 and the newer one is better. I think this place is small and maybe wants to stay that way... but if they wanted to go big, they could. Just up the marketing budget and make the app a bit more streamlined, and bang... they'd grow like a weed!

Also, it's pretty standard (and well prepared) food on the rest of the menu. My wife loves the wings - never had a bad experience there, either. Pasta is traditional Ohio/Midwest.

Overall great experience, reliable, consistent, not overpriced, on time, know what the heck they're doing......

We didn’t love it. My husband and I were between here and Dear Mama’s. Having tried Dear Mama’s before, we decided based on the reviews to go with Mama Julianne’s.

We got there right when the site/app said the food would be ready and when it was handed to me I could tell it was lukewarm and had been sitting for a bit.

I decided not to let that ruin the experience. My husband enjoyed the breaded mushrooms, I thought they were okay, but I’ve had better. I ordered the cheddar jalapeño poppers, specifically cheddar because my husband is not a fan of the cream cheese ones. The first and second poppers he bit into were cream cheese. He broke the rest open and found only 1 cheddar amongst them. To top it off, he said the cheddar one was than the cream cheese ones and he really doesn’t like cream cheese poppers. We also ordered jojos which were not crispy at all and had almost no flavor.

Then to the pizza, it was obvious it had been sitting for a while. The cheese was almost congealed and rubbery. Our pizzas weren’t bad, but they weren’t good or amazing in any way. We found ourselves choosing not to eat it because it was just not enjoyable to us at all.

We are a bit confused about how many people raved about this place, because it was a let down for us. Clearly, people enjoy it, but we aren’t those people. It’s probably a one and...
