I recently visited Mrs. Peters Smokehouse and had a delightful experience! The restaurant has a cozy, welcoming atmosphere with friendly staff ready to assist you.

Went here because the wife wanted some smoked fish dip and she found they were made here online. I've lived in the area for 20 years and really never knew about this gem. I smelled it every time I passed it (amazing smell btw) but never went in. I was greeted by the lady behind the counter and shortly thereafter the owner. Both were very personable and willing to help. Anything in the case that you wanted to try, they were willing and almost forced you to try. Once I tried their smoked garlic salmon, I knew why. It was amazing. I spoke with the owner for a couple of minutes and he even gave me a tour of the back and the smoker, saying how it's a hundred years old and a little bit of his process. He was making a batch of their smoked cornbread which I got some as well. It was just as good. The fish dip we bought is still in the refrigerator as we haven't gotten to it yet, but I don't see how there could be any complaints with it. You can tell the passion from the owner about what he serves and can see how genuine he really is. You know that if there's anything wrong, he'll be more than willing to make it right. Definitely will be back for...

The best customer service around!

The smoked fish selection is quite large and there are other smoked meats like bacon, pork, beef. The smoked fish dips looked absolutely amazing, but I can't have dairy so you'll have to try them for yourself.

We stopped in on the way to Blowing Rocks Beach and the lady behind the counter was incredibly helpful! She checked all her stock for the t-shirt size in the design I wanted.

She was very knowledgeable about the food items and knew what I was talking about when I said I can't have gluten.

They have a nice selection of seasonings and rubs. I bought Mermaid Salt and a couple different hot sauces to give my foodie friends.

I planned to buy a lot of fish, then realized I forgot the cooler so I'll have to go back.

And if you get thirsty, the selection of cold drinks will keep you going. Overall, and excellent experience and I'll be sure to go back next time...
