888 Cheese & Co. — Restaurant in Suamico

There are so many simplistic characteristics that create a five star rating for a restaurant. Sadly, this won’t be one of them. I was quite eager to try this “new” restaurant in The Howard Suamico area! I’ve lived out here for most of my life so I was ecstatic to see a venue that specialized in grilled cheese sandwiches (being a Mom of 3 littles); it’s home cooking at its finest! Upon entering this dining experience, we weren’t greeted, even though there was a gal/employee directly in front of us at the entrance/register. Puzzled, we simply took our seats and patiently waited for a server to discuss menu options. After a few moments of seeing this woman just stand there, I then asked about drink choices and their specials. She rudely responded in a manner such that I was making her go out of her way to simply state that the menus are only available at the “place your order area.” A persons demeanor and personality, especially in the line of hospitality work, speaks volumes. When you’re made to feel like an inconvenience, rather than showing any enthusiasm whatsoever. Yikes. Needless to say, after several attempts to enjoy this new dining experience, we decided to leave and went to a nearby establishment, who were perplexed to hear of this unsatisfactory and disappointing service. I’ll start by saying that food is good, people were friendly during my phone call for a take out order.

“Carry out fee.”

So I called and placed a take out order. In hindsight I should have asked the total for my order which I never did but upon picking it up I see a “carry out fee if 6%” of my total order and I wish and recommend the restaurant to let their customers know that this is a “thing/fee” they apply for take outs. I was never informed of such a fee nor have I ever seen this in any other place. On top of that fee, there is the tip on the machine that starts at 18% ,20% and 22%. So 6% carry out fee plus tip, you will easily have another (at a minimum) 24% on top of your total cost. All I will say is, that’s crazy for...

We placed our order for 888 Cheese & Co, while we enjoyed dinks next door at Ahnapee Brewery. Scanned the barcode at our table and easily navigated the menu for 888. Our food arrived quickly (within 15 or so mins after our order was finished). It was delicious and tasty. Highly recommend the starter, Cheesy Curly Fries. Definitely tasty!! We enjoyed the cheese curds just felt it was a little small so next time we'll just opt for the Cheesy Fries. We split the Chow Down sandwich. And OH. MY! It was sooo soft and literally melted in our mouths. The brisket was wonderfully done. And that jalapeno cornbread perfectly complimented the flavors of the brisket. The pickles, too.
