Been here 4-5 times so far. Food is expensive. Fish and chips could be better, but calamari is pretty darn good, but costs $17 as an appetizer. Old fashioned is $10.50 made with old forester 86 whiskey that you can buy for $26 a bottle at Jewel down the street. Have had a server twice now, he was fantastic, which is what you would expect for an upscale place. Two times had another server, including today, and they really left a lot to be desired. Today I sat at the bar for the first time, and after a bit, I was given a menu and asked if I wanted anything to drink. I asked for an old fashioned with a draft beer chaser. The bartender snarled at me and said they can't serve two drinks at once. I felt like I was being judged--she certainly could have been nicer about it. I wasn't there to get drunk, I just like a chaser with my drink. Anyway, just the old fashioned I said. After that, I waited, and waited, and waited, and finally--when my drink was almost done, was asked if I wanted to order. There was one other person at the bar and many open tables. I felt as though I was being ignored on purpose. After my calamari appetizer, I was asked if I wanted my beer. I said no and then waited a while for my tab. Paid and left. It was at just over $30 for a calamari appetizer and 1 old fashioned. I tipped $3.50, which was generous under the circumstances. I'm curious to know if someone orders a bloody mary, if they can have a chaser for that, I suppose not. Come on! I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm probably not going back. I'll go somewhere else with more competitive prices and consistently better service. It's ashame too, as there are some great memories I have with your other server, but an attitude from one person really can destroy your opinion about a place. She didn't introduce herself, the way the other server did. Both times she started the serving experience with an attitude and appeared annoyed, especially with me, and not necessarily with my wife...
Read moreMy son and I ate lunch today at this restaurant. I normally do my due diligence by reading the reviews, had I read the reviews I would not have eaten here today. We ordered appetizers spice rubbed wings and trio of angus burgers. The wings were ok, I have had better. The angus burgers were dry. The food did come out hot. I had fish and chips, salad, and fries. The fish was rolled into a log and the fries were limp. That roll of fish had the consistency of fish but was old and was tasteless. The salad mixture was wet and the vegetables were freezer burned. The coleslaw I sent back because it smelled sour and the second cup of the coleslaw smelled sour as well. My son ordered the grill steak sandwich, sent it back because it had a mayo mixture. I asked the waitress to leave the Sandwhich and bring a new bun. OH No, they will fix a new hot Sandwhich. Three minutes later a new Sandwhich appears!!! But it was the old contents of the first Sandwhich but on a new bun minus any cheese or presentation. My son ordered the brownie desert that was okay. I told the bartender/waiter Phill about the salad and fish, he responded ok, do you want anymore I told him no. I spent $80, I left a thirty dollar tip because the bartender waiter Phill, despite asking us what everytime we spoke replied to him. I wrote this review to warn consumers what quality of food is served here, also with hopes that management will hire experienced cold/food handlers that will take cross contamination food quality more seriously versus food costs. The reviews shows five stars, I put one star, it should...
Read moreMy husband and I wanted to try something new. So we decided Burnt Barrel. We thought the host was unsure of what she was doing and looked lost on to where to seat us. It was awkward. Once we had gotten seated we looked at the decor of the restaurant and it is very nice. The sever was ok. They seemed uncomfortable and awkward as well but I feel like the severs and the host wasn't so sure about themselves on what to do. So, the food was wasn't the greatest. Their wasn't any flavor in the food. It was plan. My husband had the pull pork sandwich and he was a chef. He was pointing out how they needed to add spices and know how to do their own recipes instead of just doing the basics and cutting corners. He add the Coastal tasted from a store. The coastal had no spices at all, just plan. I had the Breaded chicken buffalo with mozzarella. The chicken was great! The issue I had with the sandwich was the Buffalo Sauce, it didn't taste like it was from Scratch but only from the store. The sandwich needed some kind of Blue cheese or ranch sauce. It needed a sauce. Plan. Most of the food was very plan. I wish they could of been more Creative with their foods. I hope to see a change in their creativity with their or I don't seeing the place...
