My husband and I visited this past weekend to the SGG for breakfast. I couldn't believe how crowded the place was but we were able to get a seat right away. The service was exceptionally great and very attentive. They have amazing options for their breakfast food. I really liked the fact that with your traditional 1,2, 3 egg options that you were able to choose french toast or crepes for your side item. It is very rare to see those as an option. My husband and I both ordered a 2 egg deal and were shocked at how much was on the plate... looked more like 3 or 4 eggs. Those must of been some BIG chicken eggs :) They were super fluffy and delicious. The hash browns were out of this world, IMO! Not sure if they are cut fresh or frozen but to me... they tasted like they cut the potatoes in back. The french toast was AWESOME! I added strawberries and whip cream for $1.75. I found it a little steep considering there weren't that many strawberries added on top. The last thing I ordered was a cup of cream of chicken soup, that is my Sunday weakness. The soup tasted great, however it was quite expensive for a cup of soup (compared to other diners around.) I would have gave this place 5 stars if their prices would been a little better. Our total bill w/o tip was 26.00 for breakfast. (Our order was *2 eggs with sausage (you get 3), hash browns, and pancakes. Then a 2 egg NO meat, french toast with added strawberries, hash browns, a cup of soup and a fountain pop.) The food was delicious and we...
Read moreSuch a warm, inviting atmosphere inside! I am always welcomed wit a warm, friendly smile and greeting. I’ve only had carry out though, so I cannot attest to their table service.
Great food! Excellent portion sizes. Today I ordered the Chicken Caesar Salad. It comes in a huge carry out tray. It has a great balance of chicken, lettuce and veggies, and eggs.
I invite everyone who wants great food and excellent service to stop by this restaurant!
UPDATE: I decided to lower my review by a star. I’ve eaten here for years, but the staff changes lowered the quality of service I received yesterday. One: I waited 10 minutes for the cashier to greet and seat me. Two: I asked for a refill on my drink. Almost 10 minutes later I had to remind the server to bring me my drink, and then she spilled a piece of ice on me because she poured the drink too fast. Third: server didn’t bring my check to the table. I had to go up to the counter to get it and pay. Mind you, I was the only customer in the restaurant when all these delays were going on.
This was the first, and hopefully the only time I received sub par service at Sugar Grove Cafe. I will update my review after a couple...
Read moreI want to start off saying I was very excited to try a new restaurant in town.
So as you park you see sign for entrance and as you enter it feels like you in a small northern Wisconsin town, you cant see the hostess or anything, wasnt what I was expecting to see in a new restaurant here in sugar grove.
Then you enter, everything seemed ok waitress very nice and menu had decent options. Placed our order of breakfast with biscuits and gravy and my friend had steak taco dinner. The bacon and sausage and eggs were good, but the biscuits were so blah,no flavor tasted like nothing, very disappointed, tacos were ok but the refried beans were cold and seemed like from a can.
I'm hoping after they work the bugs out of running a new restaurant things get better, and the front entrance should be in the front of the building not the side in my opinion, makes for a nicer grand entrance...
