Kings Family Restaurant - Franklin, PA — Restaurant in Sugarcreek

We Love Kings and I don't want to write a review like this, especially when there aren't many Kings left open but this one was off the mark.

I am guessing this location has a new cook, or may need to get a new cook. 4 of us ordered and 3 of us didnt finish our meals. My youngest sons order came out wrong and we where leaving when it finally came out of the kitchen. He ordered a crispy chicken sandwich. I gave him my fries so he could eat with us.

We ordered mozzarella sticks and the cheese was on the outside and the sticks were not golden brown they were dark brown. My burger was very well done, it was crumbling with burned onions. My other son's chicken tenders were not tender, dry and hard.

We used humor on our 1hr and 15 min drive home and shared comments of possibilities of what happened in the kitchen. I know having been in food service in the past that your kitchen staff needs re training if sending our a appetizer like that was ok, and waitstaff shouldn't serve that.

Our bill was bill would have been 100 dollars if the chicken sandwich wasn't taken off.

My wife is a sweet people pleasing woman and in moments like this I remove myself from the closing transactions and let her talk. I am very blunt and honest and knowing I had to stop at Arby's down the road to spend more money to feed my boys was not amusing.

BTW, the free sandwich they sent home with us was dry and burned as well

I miss having a Kings close to us, we really enjoyed it in the past but this location judging by the state of repairs on the building may be on its way out...

I use to love this restaurant, everyone was so friendly and welcoming. I always felt at home until recently i would take my kids to dinner almost every weekend but after the last few times i’m not sure i want to return at all. These are kids working. Instead of out living their teen lives they choose to work instead, which i love, they’re much more energetic and talkative. KIDS. The past few times I’ve been in i was horrified to see the way the management treats these KIDS. Everyone makes mistakes. it happens. not here. i’ve witnessed managers yelling and being extremely rude to these KIDS. They do a wonderful job and if they make a mistake they shouldn’t be yelled at and treated horribly the rest of the night. I watched a young man be yelled at the other day over a wrong order. The way his mood changed was insane. it was like he had just been told his dog die. Is this really how kids should be treated especially when their choosing to work instead of just living out their lives for a little while. I really hope this place works on this because if not i could see this place going down real soon. The food is great. the server are great but the management needs to work on how they treat their employees especially when...

We were SO HAPPY to find this Kings! There are only a few remaining in Pennsylvania…. it’s such a wonderful classic diner-style family restaurant !! We’ve been dining at Kings for ages … and our local Kings closed years ago … we were so upset… so finding this one was a relief.. we couldn’t wait to eat there again. As expected, the food was PERFECT.. there were some new menu items … I had the hot Turkey sandwich… my daughters had : The Impossible Burger meal … and Veggie Scramble . We of course had to have the Frownie Brownie Sundaes 😁 ( my daughter had a strawberry milkshake also .. it was perfect).. .. After dinner we grabbed a 12 pack of the brownies to go …. (They have them in a 12 pack container ). They’re delicious! Nicely decorated .. Very friendly staff … very clean.. beautiful old historic Franklin .
