Would give a negative star if I could. Worst customer service experience ever and the first experience I've had that actually had me calling a restaurants corporate number. At 36 years old, i finally experienced pure unadulterated unprofessionalism. Yesterday, 5.25.25 at 1026 am, I went to McDonald's down the road from me. I've been there numerous times as it's close by. However, the last two times that I was asked to pull around and wait from the drive-through were crappy experiences. I experienced a 15 minute wait for a double cheeseburger and a mcchicken the first time. The time I was asked to pull around prior to that, I never even received my food and went inside after 20 minutes (again for a small order) and ended up asking for a refund. Neither time during these trips, were any of the staff rude. The situation sucked, but at least they were polite. Fast forward to yesterday. I get to the drive-through and saw they still had the breakfast signs up. I asked the attendant if they still have everything for breakfast, and she said yes. So I ordered two steak bagels and a coke (I had the deal on the app). I pull around, pay, drive to the pick up window, and the nice employee there gives me my coke. After about 2 minutes, she comes up to the window and asks me to pull around. At this ppoint, there'sonly one other car in the ddrive-through that had just finished paying. I explain to her that due to the pretty terrible service I received the last two times I was asked to pull around that I would politely like to wait at the window to ensure I get my food. I explained this calmly and politely. She said OK. So I sit there, sipping on my coke, waiting for my food. Then another employee comes to the window with an IMMEDIATE attitude. Power trip 100. She says I need you to pull around. And I said, again politely, that I had had terrible experiences the last times, and I would prefer not to pull around. At this point, I've been in the drive through for about 6 minutes. I think the steak at mcdonals takes about 6 to 7 minutes to make. She becomes even more rude and finally I say, OK, sense this is going to be a problem and you dont seem to care about my previously bad experiences here, I would like for you to just refund my sandwiches and I will go. She's tells me again to pull around. No. A refund takes 30 seconds to process. She then tells me to give her my card and pull around and she will bring it out to me. ABSOLUTELY NOT. You want me to just hand my card to you and leave the window? No. So, again, I politely ask her to please issue my refund while I wait at the window. She spent more time giving me an attitude than it would've taken to make my sandwiches or issue my refund. She says "fine" in a tone that was absurd given the circumstances. A few seconds later (because yes, it only takes a few seconds to issue a refund), she comes back to the window with my card and a receipt. She then goes "Im going to need you to give me that coke back." I reply with, "Excuse me? Why do you want my coke back? I've already started drinking it?" She then proceeds to say that instead of just refunding my sandwiches as I asked, she'd taken it upon herself to refund my entire order. Including the Coke that I had already started drinking. She cant gjve it to someone else because it's already a quarter emtpy at this point. So when I ask her why she would do that, she replies with "Because I dont want to deal with you." Mind you, I was just waiting for my refund so I could leave. She was petty enough and rude enough to go the extra mile and demand my coke back, that I didn't want refunded, that she was going to throw away, because she wanted to throw a tantrum. When I asked for a manage, because at this point im at a loss for how someone can be so astoundingly rude, she says "im the one in charge right now." Let me tell you, nothing McDonalds serves, is worth the hassle of dealing with the unempathetic power trip of the unprofessional angry little person (I say little in the respect of having a small peesonality) that they have in...
Read moreExtremely Poor Customer Service Experience at McDonald's in Sultan, Washington
Rating: ★☆☆☆☆ (1/5)
I recently visited the McDonald's located in Sultan, Washington, and unfortunately, I had an extremely negative experience with the general manager. I would like to share my concerns and disappointment regarding the poor customer service I received during my visit.
Upon ordering a Happy Meal for my daughter, I requested a bottle of water as her beverage. However, instead of providing the water as requested, the manager rang up an iced tea and suggested filling a cup with water instead. This was an inconvenience and an unnecessary extra step, but I remained polite and asked if the mistake could be rectified.
To my surprise, the general manager outright refused to address the mistake or provide the water my daughter should have received. Her response was not only unhelpful but also extremely rude. She even went so far as to state that tap water was nonrefundable, which is an absurd claim for a basic necessity.
What was most disappointing about this encounter was the general manager's demeanor. Her attitude was offensive and unbecoming of anyone in the hospitality industry, regardless of whether it's fast food or fine dining. It was clear that she lacked the necessary customer service skills and did not value the importance of delivering a positive experience to customers.
In my opinion, the McDonald's manager in Sultan, Washington, demonstrated a complete disregard for customer satisfaction and failed to fulfill the basic requirement of providing an essential component of the Happy Meal. Her behavior was unprofessional and unacceptable, and it left a lasting negative impression.
I believe it is essential for McDonald's, as a renowned global brand, to ensure that their employees, especially managers, are properly trained in customer service and exhibit a professional and welcoming attitude. The behavior displayed by the general manager at this particular location was far from satisfactory and reflects poorly on the entire establishment.
Based on my experience, I would strongly advise against visiting this McDonald's location in Sultan, Washington. The lack of customer care and the manager's offensive demeanor make it clear that she is not suitable for a position where interaction with people...
Read moreThe staff is amazing! This morning we went through the drive-thru & ordered breakfast. When I realized we didn't get our complete order I pulled around to the front door & called to let them know what had been forgotten. The Manager promptly apologized, asked where I was parked & said the rest of our order would be right out. While I was still on the phone with the Manager & waiting right by the door, I witness a man's disgusting behavior toward the Manager over SUGAR & KETCHUP packets. He stormed into the McDonald's lobby ignoring the huge sign that states the lobby is closed, without a mask or face covering. When the manager, who is still on the phone with me, kindly tells him the lobby is closed & that he cannot be inside the McDonald's without a mask, he screams at her "i can't wear a mask. I'm a disabled veteran." I end the call so she can focus on the customer in front of her. As the man continues to berate & disrespect the manager, she kept her composure & continued to kindly & respectfully ask him to leave the lobby & to wait outside. She's able to get the disgruntled customer outside where he rufused to leave from in front of the door. The manager said that was fine & went inside. He stood in front of my car & at the McDonald's door fuming. Another staff member was outside delivering food who was visibly nervous to have to walk next to him to get inside. When the man received his sugar & ketchup packets a short timelater. The Manager kindly opens the door & hands him his condiments wrapped in a plastic bag. He snatches the bag from her & begins to berate her some more, calling her out her name & threatening to sue. Smh! I couldn't believe the scene I was witnessing over SUGAR & KETCHUP packets. His behavior toward this woman who was just doing her job & her part to keep herself, staff & other patrons safe was just appalling.
To the McDonald's staff THANK YOU FOR ALL THAT YOU DO. Today I caught a glimpse into what it may be like for you & I wanted you to know YOU ARE...
