All the employees need a lesson on how to read and listen to customers! This is not the first time I’ve ordered from here and definitely isn’t their first time messing up my orders. I get that it’s very busy and people make mistakes but I would rather wait longer for food I ordered than receive an order quickly that isn’t mine. I ordered the coal miner storm (cake mix and Oreos) and got an Oreo storm. They also never seem to be able to get the order of a Reese cup storm with chocolate ice cream correct. My friend orders this every time we come hoping that they won’t mess up today but each time she is disappointed they either forget the size or the chocolate ice cream and give it to me with vanilla. I ordered a large peanut butter Milk shake I asked for it thicker then how they would usually serve one but still drinkable. I received what was pretty much just peanut butter ice cream mixed together . It was not drinkable and had to use a spoon to eat it. I would just love it if the workers took their time and read the order back to the customers and took the time to read the order while they make it. I worked at an ice cream stand over the summer last year and we had some busy days but we never made as many mistakes as this staff does we take our time read the order back and don’t rush to much it’s really not...
Read moreAwesome ice cream and good food. Usually busy all day on the weekends. You may have to stand in line for at least 10-15 minutes just to order, but this tells you it's amazing. Nothing better than Fat Eddie's at the Dam on a hot summer day after swimming in the lake. Truly relaxing and a refreshing experience. Located super conveniently close to the dam, you literally can't miss this place if you're heading across the dam or to the lake. My family and I love to get the cheesecake storm which is essentially what dairy Queen calls a blizzard. Blended up ice cream super smooth with your choice of additives. Do not fear the long line because the staff moves it along rather quickly and I promise it will be well worth your wait. Not even expensive.
I remember coming here when I was in high school, and I'm glad to see they are still around so I can bring my family to enjoy the same experience.
Amazing hot dogs and incredible hamburgers, the fries are super classic and will bring back memories I'll bet you didn't know you had.
The bottle caps are really interesting dish, they are deep fried pickled jalapenos!
Order one of everything if you have the time.
A truly incredible and unique West Virginia Lake...
Read moreWhat can I say about Fat Eddie's? First off it's American/Veteran owned! The staff at Fat Eddie's has always been polite to me and given prompt service. Secondly but equally important is my food/drinks have always been delivered in a timely manner and fresh when I got whatever i've ordered. The amount of menu choices for a small seasonal food place is fairly extensive with a favorite choice for everyone on that menu. Lastly and most importantly one gets treated with respect at Fat Eddie's and the nice veteran lady(Army if I'm not mistaken) who owns Fat Eddie's won't tolerate less from her staff towards her customers and this lady and her place of business rocks it:) P.S. The milkshakes, and other soft serve dairy products are awesome during the summer at the lake during the 90+ degree heat. Stop by and enjoy this hidden gem in the mountains of West Virginia for excellent finger foods and soft serve dairy and beautiful scenery while you sit outside under the canopy and enjoy beautiful WV scenery of the mountains and Summersville lake. Looking forward to the opening of Fat Eddie's this season and friendly atmosphere everytime i go to the lake or just passing...
