This is a hard post to do. Normally I have nothing but good things to say about local establishments. However this latest visit was upsetting. My wife and I brought my two kids, five and two, to enjoy a night out at this great location across from a lake. Upon entering the establishment, everything seemed fine. That changed pretty quickly. We were escorted our table. In route we noticed the cleanliness wasn't up to par. I don't normally fret about cleanliness and I can understand a little bit of food debris on the floor. But once we arrived at our table it was a mess, they hadn't cleaned the table yet. Once again, not a big deal. We waited for the table to be wiped down. But now the issue was the table was sticky. And not just for two minutes while it dried. The table was sticky the entire time we were there for dinner. Our kids coloring pages stuck to the table and had to be peeled off to move it. While at our table none of the tables near us were ever wiped down and the floors had chicken and fries and was never swept. No big deal on the sweeping but I would think they would clean tables to prep them for the next guests. You can see the pictures attached to this post. Enough about that; On to the food and the rest of the experience. We looked through our sticky menus and picked out our food and placed our order just fine. Or so we thought. Beverages came out, keep in mind we have two kids, and they brought out two big cups of our kids drinks in the big plastic restaurant cups. For a two year old and a five year old! We asked if they had kids cups and the waitress said "I am not sure." How do you not know if you have kids cups? They didn't btw. Fine fine... We packed our own silicone drink lids; Thankfully. As two seconds later our two your old pushed her cup over. If it weren't for the lid it would have gone everywhere. The food came out. Quality was great. Food was delicious. Props to the chef. This is why you guys got the two star rating... Otherwise the experience would be a solid one star. Only comment on food I have is, I upgraded from fries to sweet potato tots. They were great but the quantity felt slim. This is more of a preference to me. So I can't blame them much. But if you pay a dollar more for something I feel you should get at least the same amount of tots in weight as it would have been if it were fries. After finishing the good food. We got our bill. We questioned one item. The $3 dollar drink for our kids meal. Three dollars isn't anything but when we had the kids menu we had thought it said it came with a drink. After questioning the waitress she informed us the kids meal could come with a "Root beer float" if we had asked for it. She said she had to check with her manager if she could swap the float for a fountain drink. She came back and informed us that the kids meal only comes with a Root beer float and cannot be swapped for a soda on the tap. We were confused at this point. A root beer float has more expensive items in it then just a tap soda. Why couldn't we swap this out? It sounded just dumb. Which made us more frustrated. We didn't want a float. Just a soda. We of course questioned why we were not informed the kids meal comes with a float and only a float of which we were told "it's written on the kids menu." Great. Here we just felt that this is a waitresses job, to inform customers of their options especially when ordering. The waitress was very nice this entire time. Just to say that up front. She was pleasant and never got angry or raised her voice. She was just doing her job. She just wasn't knowledgeable about what they had or what they could do. So, food good. Cleanliness awful. Service mediocre. We will not be back. Thanks. And I know some people may question why we ordered the float and barely drank it. We could of saved a local business that waste. Well they could of saved themselves this review and the waste by just removing a three dollar drink from our receipt in place of a root beer float which I'm certain costs them more to make then a soda on tap.

So yeah... We were in town for a college graduation and were wanting a place to get together with some friends for dinner. We knew it was going to be a busy Friday night and were prepared for a wait. Little did we know... My wife and I arrived at 615 and asked for a table for four. We were told it would be about a half hour and we were cool with that. Sure enough, a half hour went by and we were seated. Seeing how busy it was, we were going over the menu and did notice how long it had been until we looked at the table next to us - they had barely received their apps. I looked at the time and 15 minutes had already passed without us even being acknowledged. A server asked if anyone had been by yet and assured us someone would be with us shortly. A young lady took our drink order and said she would be back with them. 15 minutes (!) later, we were on the verge of walking out, as we had still not received anything. However, she arrived with our waters and various beverages at the last possible moment. We were stuck now. She asked about apps, and my wife and I got the crabby fries. She did not ask about entrées, which I found odd, but hey... The appetizer arrived about 15 minutes later and was tasty, but a bit disappointing in size. She then took our orders - my wife got some tacos and I got the Shrimp and Crab BLT. Both of our entrées were delicious, but you could tell they were under a heat lamp for some time. It took almost a half hour for our entrées to come out and in that time, we saw a six-top get seated next to us and receive their entire order - drinks and all! Once we received our food, I asked to speak with a manager. I explained the situation and the timeline. She told me that it was a busy Friday and the kitchen was backed up and our server was also taking care of the outside patio. In the end, she took care of our drinks for the lack of service. If in the area again, we would not come back on a weekend. Their service seems to be lacking when it is busy. During the week would be a better bet. The food was good though! I rather enjoyed the BLT and my wife told me her tacos were delicious.

EDIT: 2025 return I have to come back to change my review, as I recently tried Lucky Chucky’s again 2 years later - because the food was exceptional and I was very happy with the experience and that I gave it another chance. We went on a Friday, but it wasn’t too busy. No room on the outdoor patio, so we sat in the enclosed patio, which still had a nice view of the lake. I am excited to go back again. Previous review: (2 stars) From the food to the service to the atmosphere, Lucky Chucky’s left everything to be desired. The place was just empty, nothing was on the tables (like salt/pepper/ketchup) and there were very few people there, and us being there felt like a bother. This was possibly because of them not having a lot of employees working…there were signs all over the doors and counters stating they were understaffed and our server told us as well. I just ended up feeling bad. The food was extremely bland. The fries were great, the tacos had some potential, and the grilled chicken sandwich was just a plain, unseasoned chicken breast with the weirdest aftertaste of burger. I had heard good things about Lucky Chucky’s, so maybe this was a one off experience, but I was unfortunately disappointed.

I would say this place has a great location, the food is alright. Some of it was great, some of it was okay. Details below. Drinks were great! Beautiful set up, service was spectacular, server was attentive and accommodating, bartenders are very clearly experienced and determined to make your drinks exceptional, overall everyone was very kind and helpful. Great staff!

RECOMMENDATION: BAKED COD VERACRUZ, Girlfriend ordered this, it was phenomenal, it came on a bed of brown rice, looked, smelled, tasted - extraordinary! I tried a few bites as well and we have two votes for spectacular. Consider this two counts to a Highly recommended dish!

Our party had 2 orders of beer battered cod dinners, both seemed satisfactory. One individual stated the cole slaw was slightly heavy on the vinegar flavor and not very creamy. Take that as you will, lol.

I ordered the Friday Lake Fish Of The Week which was a Walleye, with a side of sweet potato tots. The walleye was alright, the breading came out pretty crispy which I found delightful. I was mostly happy the sweet tater tots, though a good half of them were extremely heavily salted. So definitely a variable that I believe the operators and chefs could be a little more vigilant about.

4 stars simply for the fact that each dish aside from the BAKED COD VERACRUZ, seemed to just be okay for the most part. Basically for the prices being charged I would expect more attention, care, and consistently pleasant taste.

ALSO PLEASE NOTE: The server stated that the dishes included a side. She did not mention that the sides incurred an extra charge. This assisted in the value versus quality/ quantity issue I brought up earlier.

Drinks: Long Island Ice tea: 5/5. Would recommend and order again. Island Sangria : 10/5. Definitely will drink more of these here. Coors Light bottle: cold, standard, the drinker enjoyed the beverage. Water: clean, cold, refreshing.

I do plan to return and hopefully explore the menus further. With those explorations I will...
