This place has the potential to be a great breakfast spot. It has all the staples; great looking menu, kitschy decorating and a good location. It was disappointing to see how short they fall on it though. My wife and I stopped by right at opening on a Sunday. I ordered the poblano omelette, she ordered the carnitas supreme. Both appeared to be great, but lacked much flavor. The poblano omelette was stiff, a bit rubbery and covered in a cream sauce that tasted like thickened heavy cream. The poblanos had no presence in flavor. The hasbrowns were bordering on burned on the outside, but raw in the middle. The carnitas was dry and obviously sitting in a warmer for a while, like a day or two. Again, no flavor other than the salsa on top. Many places use corn, but the fried flour tortilla was a nice choice. Both dishes required lots of salt and pepper. Their namesake biscuit was the shining star. Buttery and flaky, wish we would have just stuck to those.

The Sweet Sausage Cake O-Rito with a side of country potatoes was absolutely delicious! The perfect balance of sweet and savory, with fluffy pancakes wrapped around the filling in a way that felt both indulgent and satisfying. The country potatoes were crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and perfectly seasoned. Every bite was a delight! Highly recommend if you're looking for a unique and flavorful breakfast option.

The Buttered Biscuit just lost us as customers on our first visit. After reading some rave reviews on here we went this morning to try it out for ourselves. This is a mixed review, but due to customer handling, we won't be back. I ordered the Smothered Poblano Omelet with carne asada, hash browns and rye toast. My wife ordered the Gold Medal Pancake. Her breakfast was excellent, she loved it, however, mine was a mixed bag. My hash browns were perfect... the toast was adequate, but only one slice, cut in half. It's pretty standard to get 2 slices, halved, but I saw enough food on the plate so didn't worry about the single slice of toast. My omelet however.. first there was a piece of paper, like wax paper, about 2"x 0.5" in size, in my food by the omelet. The carne asada was 90% inedible as it was strings of gristle with very little chewable meat. I got tired of spitting gristle into a napkin and finally pulled the remaining meat out of the omelet to pick at with my fork & knife.. it was all strings of gristle. Really a bummer as the flavor was great. I showed the wait staff and asked for the manager, he said he is the manager and that he could knock 10% off the plate's price. I said that really isn't acceptable all things considered. For these issues I expect to have the plate removed from my bill. I wish I had just rejected the plate at the first sign of issues... and had them re-do it, but I hate to be a problem and delay our breakfast.. but that's really what I needed to do in order to achieve satisfaction. The manager said that is all the owner will allow them to do is a 10% discount on the offending plate. I asked to speak to the owner and he said they are not here, but he had texted him/her about the issue. Still, 10% was the offer. I told him they just lost a new customer already and he acted like it wasn't the first time, his apathy was impressive. Not a damn to be given. Too bad really because I know they can output quality, it's the handling of the exception that has...

I do not like leaving negative reviews! This negative review could have been totally avoided. Food and service would have been no stars if that was a selection choice. However, we just had breakfast at this establishment. This was a very negative experience. The primary issue was the quality and taste of the food (one of the primary reasons you go to a restaurant) and then, by default, the incredibly poor response by the owner of the establishment once it was brought to their attention.

My partner ordered prime steak hash breakfast with eggs. The hash was very greasy and had very little meat. What was there looked like it had been scraped out of the grease trap - hard, burnt, and very minimal. It was uneatable!

When this issue was brought to the owner's attention, they related it's the way we serve it. We offered to pay for the eggs and biscuit that came with the meal, though we requested a discount due to the inability to eat the focus of the meal - the steak hash. The owner refused any discount and related there was nothing wrong with the meal as served. We paid the full ticket as presented.

Do not waste your hard earned money or time on this established! There are certainly establishments out here working hard and providing good food and service for your hard earned money......
