Superior Pizza & Subs — Restaurant in Superior Township

Our experiences weren't perfect but it was worth 5-star. I chose the boneless wings with the parmesan garlic. It was a little salty for my taste but I had recently had the same problem with the sauce at Buffa Louis in Bloomington, Indiana, and Buffalo Wild Wings. The chicken meat was a good quality white meat and the sizes were good too. In addition, I ordered the Honey Garlic Chicken Ranch pasta (thus I chose a different sauce on the wings). It is perhaps new on the menu but the chicken tasted great among the cheesy penne pasta. I would return just for the pasta and the wings. Better yet, the pizza we ordered was the star on our table. We built our own on a 12-inch pie with the cheese, bacon, and parmesan garlic crust. Bacon was properly cooked, not overpowering while flavorful. The crust came out airy and puffy inside while the outside remained crunchy. The bottom of the crust was crispy and every bite was a pleasure in my mouth. Great pizza and addicting garlic cheese dipping sauce! Loved the crust. It had a light crispness to it but still had that soft, doughyness. Very good! The sauce and cheese were good as well. Big variety of toppings to choose from. My husband got the Italian Sub and loved it. The mom & pop looking exterior of the building does not match the updated interior. Small but nice inside with wood and metal walls. (Sorry, no pictures.) They also sell ice cream. What could be better than pizza and ice cream?! We'll be back the next time we're in this side of the U.P., especially if they keep making that garlic cheese dip! Now to get them to open up a shop in...

The joke is that while the pizza is quite good, it's also the only pizza around. So, it's really a good thing it's tasty.

Sadly and due to the fluctuating population throughout the year, Superior is only open during the summer. I've ordered from there several times and while I haven't cared much for the appetizers, and it looks/feels like the pizza itself runs a little overdone, the taste still wins!
