Surf City Brewing Company — Restaurant in Surf City

Went here for the first time during their Oktoberfest event. We were disappointed in their beer selection, the food truck ran out of food in only an hour and a half, and the outdoor seating could use some attention. They have a few large picnic tables, but only some of them provide an overhead tarp to keep you out of the hot sun. There are no fans or misters outside either. The picnic tables were covered in table cloths, but my friend sat her beer down and because one of the boards is warped on the table top and couldn't be seen under the table cloth, the entire beer fell over on her and all over her purse. The bartender acted like it was her fault, and instead of being apologetic, he was hesitant to replace her full beer she had just purchased and never came to see the table so it could be fixed in the future. As long time visitors of Surf City who come down three times a year, we decided a few years back to try something new each time we come. This trip, it was Surf City Brewing. Could not be more thrilled about our choice. Everything about it was amazing. Nicole was delightful, engaging, and knowledgeable. Hilary was equally welcoming and grateful for our visit. And then much to our surprise, the beer was SO GOOD!!! They have recently won an award (well-deserved) for their Bock. The collaboration beer w Shuckin Shack was CRAZY good, and the two IPAs we tried were so delicious!!! It can sometimes be hit or miss with breweries... like, the concept is great and people are nice but beers are shmedium. Or, beers are kinda good but people suck. Or, worse even, beers not good, people not good. This place was EVERYTHING. The music was even good. Perfect vibes. It's out of our way and we will still return no matter what and highly recommend!!! Had a great experience at this brewery with some family. They had food trucks almost every day which was really good. I tried a few beers, porter was one of my favorites. My girlfriend really enjoyed the mimosa flights. They show live games and play music. The environment was really lively with great and quick service. You’re also able to bring your dogs which I thought was cool. At night the atmosphere gets better on the patio with the lighting, creates a chill vibe. Would recommend everyone try this place out, the owners are really nice and welcoming as well, they really interact with their customers.
