Looking for breakfast, and have never tried this restaurant. This place is situated in a retirement community. Once getting through the gate with a visitors permit, that was the only wait as there was plenty of open seating. Hillary was my server. Very pleasant and attentive. I perused the menu that had a variety of options. I chose the pancake platter (full order) which came with a stack of four cakes, two eggs, and two sausages (bacon was another option). The eggs were prepared just right - over medium - and the sausage was fine. Prefer not having the links split down the middle, and will keep that in mind next time. The cakes tasted peculiar. They seemed package like batter, but turns out they’re made from scratch. What I thought might be cinnamon was really orange zest. The consistency was also like that of wheat cakes. Couldn’t think of the flour that was used, and was told it was self rising. Nothing terrible. If I have this again I’ll go 1/2 an order as four cakes was too much. The turkey burger was the worst I’ve ever had. It tasted like the terrible soy burgers I was served in my grade school cafeteria. It also did not appear to have been “grilled” as the menu described. It was just a thick, tough, patty that looked like it had been warmed up in a skillet. I had one bite and was finished. The fries were okay. The waitress was friendly. There was quite a wait before the food arrived which at the time I didn’t mind because I thought it would be worth it. It wasn’t. So $32 down the drain. We...
Read moreA chef who cooks from the heart. I only stopped a few times for an afternoon bite, a meeting, and their grand re-opening last fall. I always notice smiling, happy customers!
Chef Peter puts his heart into his restaurant and makes sure his customers are happy (and full).
Those steak bites with pita bread were my absolute favorite! If you love barbecue, especially KC style, you would love this place!
This is a little known and underrated neighborhood restaurant that deserves to be featured on a local news station.
I will plan to go back for a sit-down meal and bring another...
