I’ve been going to Nellies since they opened and have never had less than a 5 star experience. Their food is fresh and well prepared, and the staff have always been kind and prompt. I went in for lunch with my partner yesterday and was not once greeted kindly, or even acknowledged in a remotely professional or respectful manner. When I placed my order the woman taking it sighed several times and wouldn’t even look at me. I didn’t think much of it until I sat down and the wait staff stared at me through the kitchen the entire time I waited for my food. When our food was finally bagged and taken to us I realized she had forgotten our salad. No big deal. I kindly mentioned this and she responded with “yeah I know” and quickly walked away, when she came back with our salad she refused to acknowledge me and told my parter to have a good day, blatantly ignoring me. Upon leaving I was quite literally glared at by a woman wearing a pink sweater. The entire experience was extremely uncomfortable from start to finish and unlike any experience I have ever had with Nellies. The owners seem like very kind people and I will always give the food 5/5. The lack of professionalism was quite shocking. As someone who is involved in the community and works in a people facing field, loyalty and integrity are the foundation of your success and shape the experiences people will associate with your establishment. Maybe I caught everyone on a bad day, nonetheless, I don’t foresee myself returning due to...
Read moreExpecting a small lunch counter just off the freeway, we arrived to find the restaurant had now moved to the far edge of town. At the time, the only note of that was a hand-scrawled note in the window at the old location. The line out the door when we arrived at the new place, and the large and crowded dining hall heightened our anticipation and expectations of the Deli.
Between us we split the Beet & Goat Cheese Salad, the Trailblazer Sandwich, and a "bowl" of Albondigas soup. In fairness to the restaurant, nothing was bad. The ingredients were fresh, high quality, and selected with care. The counter staff were rushed and hurried, but still polite. Our complaint is about portions and pricing. We paid $12 for a pile of greens, 4 slices of beet and 4 tiny chunks of goat cheese, and that "bowl" of soup was 8 fluid ounces, and cost $8. We hope that the price/portion issue has improved, but we are not about to drive the 1500 miles back to give them...
Read moreWent in here on Thursday the 20th of Aug 2020 around 745pm. I seen the look on the kid's face in the back. It was the face of "dang, a customer as we are closing?" so i guess this kid who made my salad wanted to show me who's boss. I ordered a Thai salad, as the kid behind the counter said it's "awesome.com" so i went with his recommendation. I got my sald and looked at it, and it sure didn't look like 12 dollars worth of salad. looked like some lettuce, some cut up mandarins on top, and some peas. Hardly not 12 dollars worth of salad. I worked hard for my money, i do NOT like wasting it on lettuce. What am i, a rabbit?? The salad was about 90% lettuce and 10 percent other junk to make it look cool. Never again! I may go in for a sandwich or send someone to get my sandwich as i would be afraid they would give me the same treatment they did with the salad. Unacceptable and quite possibly the worst salad i've ever...
