When we pulled up, we were very excited about the look of the Vineyard and Winery. You could tell they care about their appearance and atmosphere. It was a Beautiful Wednesday summer afternoon, after a couple of rainy ones, and we thought we might see more patrons. We went in, and the atmosphere was still inviting, as was the outdoor patio/deck and side yard. As we stood to decide which wines to try, a co-worker of the guy who was waiting on us trying to be present and explain the menu and tasting flights, kept interrupting asking questions of him that did not need, immediate attention and could have waited till we had our wine. Not to mention neither one of them asked us a single question or told us about the wine or vineyard. The younger one tried to get us to go outside and he would bring our tastes. (we think in an attempt to keep us from hearing what his co-worker was going on about) We sat to try our wine, yet still anticipating the 45 North experience and sat down on the Deck. To our surprise, of the 6 wines we tasted, 4 were very tart and unappealing. We did have the unwooded Chardonnay (smooth and enjoyable), and the Gamay Noir (which may have paired well with food). All in all, we would not come back without some prompting of friends that had a different experience. There were many stand-out features that were good, and if the staff had a bad day, ok, understandable. Just a little Customer Service refresh, would fix. When we left, we put our glasses outside in a tub, where, again, no one came out to ask us if we enjoyed the wine. So we left, feeling...
Read moreI came here this past week and enjoyed sitting outside in the peaceful outdoors the first time, while enjoying a delicious Eggs Benny from Fried - the food truck parked out front. Ryan & Matt were welcoming, friendly, and great chefs! Skip the food inside - try out the fresh and locally sourced food from Fried! We placed bocce which was fun, while enjoying a flight and a glass of their Peach wine, which two employees joked about how it's "not really wine, just some stuff with peaches in a glass." How unfortunate of these employees. Fried, the food truck, my company, and the atmosphere outside is why there are stars on this review. I also really enjoyed my Peach wine and purchased a bottle, regardless of the comments made by staff. One of the employees, Sarah, was unfriendly, with a side of "I don't care to be here/better things to do" attitude, and we gladly worked with another woman behind the bar. We asked the woman who helped us a question, and she was unsure, so we asked Sarah, who looked at the employee and snapped at her.
Outside the winery, there are some tables with umbrellas and picnic tables on the side near a bocce ball court, which is very fun to play! Because of this outdoor space, I would say that if you don't have another option and bring those under 21 along, they can stay occupied playing in the grass and eating (nonalcoholic beverages with the food truck). I imagine this place sees larger groups coming for tastings, so it's likely better to come during the week or "off hours" to avoid the...
Read moreI'm indifferent. I've been to a ton of wineries up here, including California, in the last few years. This is my first time visiting 45 because it was recommended by an acquaintance. The hostess was nice, we move into the inside, Saturday about 230pm. It was busy, but not packed. We weren't acknowledged or instructed much. Lines were confusing. We went up to the front when it was somewhat cleared. A young looking girl with brown hair was very rude. We said we were there for some tasting and she said "oh well you need to fill this out first, and then I can help you." And rolled her eyes. So we quickly filled it out cuz we were waiting before then and already knew what we wanted. Then she took our papers, I think we paid? And that was that. It was a very rude process. Her attitude and tone. Looked like she hated her job and didn't want to be there. This is first impression. The wine was okay, nothing special. I'm not impressed. Probably won't be back tbh. Get better staff with a clear vision on how to communicate and instruct customers. Confusing, rude, and...
