Hacienda Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Suwanee

We’ve been here a few times, all good experiences but never so great that I felt like I needed to write a review.

I usually order the chicken soup and my mom ordered the new taco item on the menu that comes with bone marrow. We also got guacamole, and enjoyed a horchata and some iced tea. Food was 10/10 (the guacamole is really good, I just wish you got more for the price!).

But the best part of our experience was Mariana. She is AWESOME. Being a wheelchair user I don’t always get treated nicely… but she went above and beyond. As we try to make it from the car to the restaurant, we found that a number of cars had backed up way too far and blocked off the walkway so we couldn’t get through. Mariana saw us trying to find a way and went out of her way to help us. My mom had our dogs so we couldn’t eat inside but the entrance to the patio was narrowed due to a large party - too small for me in my wheelchair but enough for my mom to be able to squeeze through with the dogs. Mariana offered to help me through the restaurant so we could get me onto the patio and was so so nice and conscientious of any issues. She clearly has a big heart, and is truly an asset for any employer.

The only issues with this restaurant (Mariana gets the 5 stars) are that smokers are always at the entrance and the staff does nothing to enforce the laws about not smoking within so many feet of a door (something which only seems emboldened by the placement of a small bar in front of the entrance, for both), and that there are no handicap parking spaces (and the few that exist in the entire parking lot oftentimes are taken up by someone without a handicap hang tag or plates - another issue that is...

As we entered the restaurant and was pleasantly greeted by the hostess. As we followed her to our table we asked to sit in the next booth since it didn't look sanitized. We ordered two entres. The chilaquiles and the veggie fajitas. The menu says that the veggie fajitas has spinach, grilled tomatoes, mushrooms, onions and bell peppers. When it arrived it had huge pieces of potatoes and broccoli in it. Nowhere on the menu description does it say pots and broccoli. Not good.

The manager came over and told me that the kitchen just likes to throw extra stuff in the veggie fajitas because people complained that the dish was too small. Hmmm?

The chilaquiles first came out with raw onions on it. We clearly asked for no onions which Alex repeated back and assured that their would be none. When the dish came out it has a lot of crumbly white cheese on top of the egg. Mistakes happen but it was returned. When the new dish arrived this time it didn't have any salsa verde and the egg was covered with a squeeze bottle of sour cream.

If I ever go back I will just eat off the side menu. You can't mess up a side of beans and rice. Or can you?

The kitchen should work on their consistency. Alex did an awesome job. He was a very pleasant server. Governor Deal lifted the use of all servers needing to wear masks. Just to let you know in case the owner didn't get...

We went twice, one for take out and the other for dine-in. The take out was perfectly fine, very quick and great food but the receptionists were rude but it was really busy so we didn't take it as anything but that.

Tonight was our dine-in, we were a party of three and asked for water and started ordering drinks. I was asking what would be a good starter to my partner after he showed his ID to the server, I was in the middle of also showing my Id and the the server didn't even say "give me a moment" or "hold on" before she just walked away and started talking to her manager. He comes to the table and starts speaking Spanish to my partner without even asking if we spoke Spanish, demanding our IDs to go scan them, luckily my partner speaks Spanish. The server comes over again to try and take our order after 10 minutes, still no water we ask for our waters again and to please give us more time until after we get our IDs back, she scoffed and just walked off. The manager came back and said thank you, then 5 minutes later we get a new server, no water still and she asked to take our order again while the other server was laughing with a friend in the corner(the one that was our first server). We thanked the new server but decided to leave.

Only 2 stars for the food, everything else was unprofessional...
