Jumbo Golden China — Restaurant in Swansboro

If i could give it 0 stars i would. We had tried this place years ago and it was fine and then it went downhill to the point that we stopped going. We decided to try it again. That was a mistake. Once was passable enough to consider going again but it has been terrible ever since. We ask for General Tso's extra spicy. Not only is it not extra spicy, its not spicy at all. The meat is common, cheap, low grade chicken. (Basically what every bad chinese restaurant uses.) And its all fried in a deep fat frier instead of a wok so it has that extra greasy, all-american feel. Gross! We have repeatedly asked that they prepare eggrolls to order, but instead of that, we get greasy, doubled dipped, been sitting in a basket all day, eggrolls. You bite into these things and you can see the grease run out of them like Niagara falls. But today was the icing on the cake. The wonton wrapper was this gross, neon yellow, soaked in old grease color. It was terrible, greasy, and i FELT terrible after eating it. I will never return here again and you shouldn't either. No matter how optimistic you are or how tempting chinese food sounds, you will absolutely regret it. Staff just ignores you and food isn't worth the plastic container they...

Because the food was so completely bland the last time I had eaten here, I had not been back in at least two years. I was craving lo mein and didn't feel like driving far to get it. I figured I would just add more flavors if I needed to. Happily, that was not the case. The food was MUCH better than when I was here last. The lo mein was just slightly overcooked & was starting to get mushy, but the flavors were delicious. The roast pork in black bean sauce was also very tasty and the vegetables were cooked just right; w/ a slight crisp firmness and not mushy. The lady behind the counter was courteous & friendly and the service was quick. For fast food Chinese take-out, you might want to give this...

DO NOT EAT HERE!!!! I ORDERED a combo plate w/fried rice and beef teriyaki. The rice was absolutely gross, no flavor, no seasoning, and the beef teriyaki was charcoal on a stick. They told me that's how it comes, it doesn't retain moisture, etc...excuses. then they offered to give me a free order of the teriyaki chicken. As im waiting, I look up and the vent on the ceiling is covered in black gunk, probably mold, hasn't been cleaned like ever...needless to say, I immediately threw the chicken out. Anyplace that has vents that dirty? Probably will give you food...
