Go anytine, but burger night is good! This is a charming and delicious place to eat. Counter service - order and pay, grab your flatware, napkins, and condiments, and then choose your seat among two rooms of antique dining tables and chairs. Look around while you're waiting. The fixtures and furnishings, even the ceiling is interesting. We had book club there in the side room and it was great. The staff is super friendly and helpful. There's a parking lot behind and to the side. It's gravel and pretty dippy. The handicap ramp is there at the back and entering there brings you in at the tiny gift shop. There wasn't much real estate devoted to the gifty things, but they were interesting and compelling enough for a "ladies who lunch" return...

Kava House and Cafe was one of the best places we visited on our trip out to the Midwest! We visited on "Burger Friday," and the burgers did NOT disappoint! It was a pleasant surprise to walk in and smell the sweet aroma of coffee and see all the delicious flavors! My only regret is that we didn't have time to go back so I could try the coffee and homemade cake! We sat outside, and it was perfect for our families' kids to run around and play after we ate so the adults could sit and talk. Lunch options are good. Decided to try the breakfast but was disappointed in comparison. They prepare their breakfast options ahead of time so items cannot be customized which leaves less dining options for those with food allergies or diet restrictions. I tired the biscuits and gravy and I couldn't even finish 1 biscuit. The gravy they use is NOT GOOD. And they top it HEAVILY with some dry herb like flaked parsley.
