I’ve been a regular patron of Parkway Restaurant for some time, but WOW recent experiences have been disappointing, to say the least. One particular waitress, Shayla, has exhibited extremely unprofessional behavior. She openly speaks negatively about customers—often within earshot—and even directly in front of them. This is not only disrespectful but completely unacceptable in a service-oriented establishment.
What’s equally troubling is that management appears uninterested in addressing this behavior. It’s disappointing to see how far this restaurant has fallen from its previous standards. The lack of professionalism and common courtesy among the waitstaff is glaring.
Being in the service industry my ENTIRE LIFE requires a level of respect and care for customers, but instead, this particular waitress seems to carry an unwarranted sense of entitlement. Not sure why. This is not what I expect from a place I’ve frequented so often. She would never survive in Las Vegas, management would never tolerate this type of behavior.
Until there is a clear effort to improve staff behavior and restore the welcoming environment Parkway was once known for, I cannot recommend dining here. What a shame because the food is great and this place used to be great and our family loved eating here and my family has helped her and many of the waitresses financially outside of tipping for their service as well....
Read moreMy family had a wonderful experience at Parkway Restaurant yesterday evening. We arrived around 4:30–5pm on a Saturday—just before the rush—and were warmly greeted by a kind bearded gentleman who happily gave us the booth we wanted.
The place felt clean, from the tables to the window sills to the blinds (even the women’s bathroom). We sat near the kitchen, which was pleasantly calm and not noisy like at some diners.
Our server, a friendly young woman with blonde hair, was attentive and knew the menu well. Food arrived quickly and piping hot. I ordered the Hot Roast Beef Sandwich—exactly the classic I’d been craving: dark gravy, instant mashed potatoes, Wonder bread, and perfectly thin roast beef. Pure 1980s small-town nostalgia!
My husband’s fried seafood platter was so good he kept insisting I try it, and everything—from the fish to the crinkle fries—had that old-school flavor. My son said his hamburger was one of the best he’s ever had.
Even on an off day, I’d happily eat at Parkway again. Great service, delicious comfort food, and a nostalgic diner feel. What a cherished experience considering all the chain restaurants we are forced to eat...
Read moreEvery small town needs a good dinner / family restaurant and this place fits the bill. Prices are good and the food is even better. This place is perfect coming in for comfort food. My boyfriend took me here when I first moved here and we have been coming back brining my dad and his dad and my daughter time and time again. servers are good and the people running seem really nice. I really appreciate the atmosphere of a place like this. It’s pretty great because it’s nostagic and old school but very clean and well maintained. Everything on the menu I’ve tried has been really great. I like the California turkey sandwich. It’s like the beach club at jimmmy johns just 100times better. They use real turkey breast slices and it’s fantastic. The soups are great and also so is the steaks and stirfry. I love the breakfast usually get the parkway special. This place is great to take the...
