When I walked in I stood for over five minutes before somebody acknowledged me even though the waiter was standing in front of me with the dish cart from cleaning a table off finally got seated if you sit in their boots you feel like you’re at a high top sitting at a barstool so I ordered my food most everything they have is uncooked very bland out of a can no seasoning whatsoever they give you the bare minimum that they could possibly think about giving you as far side items when I was done eating and wanted to leave I couldn’t get a check I never could find anyone so I went up front and stood while I watched my waiter standing in the kitchen eating with his hands he was eating a salad with his hands where everyone in the restaurant could look through the doorway and see him I stood for almost 10 minutes before someone actually came out and rang me up so that I could pay and leave The service was horrible the food was bland underseasoned and undercooked And the only reason that this restaurant makes it is because they’re in a small town and they take full advantage of the people...

So let me start off by saying I enjoy Mexican restaurants. The atmosphere, food, Nice people. With that being said El Vaquero's was a bit of a letdown when it comes to the food. Both my nephew and myself agreed that the food was so bland that we probably would not want to come back. I had the chicken fajitas and he had the beef chimichanga, Both drastically under seasoned. Even the salsa was extremely thin, bland, and way too salty. The atmosphere was nice and I even peaked my head into the kitchen and noticed that it was relatively clean and made me feel better about my experience there. One thing I would encourage them to do was to give the dining area a good deep cleaning, for Dust was on Every piece of furniture and décor, to the point where I could sit there and look at the dust moving around on furniture and ceiling. One good thing was that the food was priced very reasonable. Lunch fajitas was $8 and the beef Chimichanga was $7. Overall we both agree that it would not be worth coming back here unless they made...

Use to go here a few tears back... After a couple times if unsatisfactory service, we stopped going... Decided to go back this year and give it another shot... 1st 2 times was great service... Then, it was down hill from there... Each time we go in, get seated, they take drink order, wait quite a bit for them to take the food order... A few times, I have had to get up and go find somebody to take our order, refill drinks, go box, or bill... Food is always good... Service is hit or miss... Margaritas are weak ( size medium)... We always tip.. But, the amount if tip is dependent upon the quality of service... Tonight was a $6 tip for $45 bill... Service wasn't great tonight, so tip could've been bigger... Not sure how many more times we will be going to El Vaquero's if the service doesn't get better... I will say, the men give better service than the...

I try not to give overly negative reviews because every place can have an off day. This place, however....The only good thing to say is that the staff is friendly. Everything else from the cracked, uncomfortable vinyl seats, the dreary decor to the overpriced food and drinks is just awful. The margaritas are huge but taste like watered down limeade with no alcohol. My plate of 'Hot Chile Verde' was anything BUT hot...The temperature of the food was barely warm and there was zero spice or taste to the dish. The steak was bland & tough and the whole tasteless plate looked like a big platter of slop. My husband's carne asada was dry and tough to the point of being nearly inedible. We spent $60 for 2 drinks and 2 lunch plates and honestly, it wasn't even worth $6 total. Save your money and just go to Taco Bell if you want lousy Mexican food. We will never be back.

Visited this location this past Thursday with a group of 5 and will avoid this location going forth. This was my first time visiting as I had heard great things regarding the food and service and was extremely disappointed. Extremely slow service combined with continuously having to ask for basic things while the waiters congregated at the front started the experience off poorly. Additionally, the food was lackluster compared to other Mexican options in the area. Drinks were great though.

If you enjoy steak, onions, and green peppers try #48. Two burritos with above covered in cheese sauce. Served with rice or refried beans plus lettuce, tomatoes, etc... Always fantastic. I get frustrated with people's comments about their communication, bottom line is most of the people at this restaurant are family and don't speak English well. So be it, they cook real good and usually fast.
