Talent cafe Echo — Restaurant in Talent

I visited family around a month ago, and we decided to try this new place called Talent Cafe Echo. The coffee drinks were supurb and well priced. The barista was very friendly and presentable. Baked goods were also excellent. Unfortunately, the hot food was disappointing. But most importantly, the environment was disturbing and ultimately just downright socially unacceptable and disrespectful. Firstly, the baked scones and coconut cakes were delicious. The scramble was grossly undercooked (still slimy). Everything was decently overpriced, but the coffee and the overall food quality were 6 out of 10 (mostly because of the baked goods and coffee). What will cause me and my family to never go back has nothing to do with the prices, though. It was the chosen hate based conversation topics the owner was having in the dining room while we were trying to enjoy ourselves. From the moment we walked in to the moment we walked out, it was a nasty republican Trump bash fest. Not soley from the customers, instead from the owner to anyone who would listen and engage. Her disgust for our president ran deep. During our meal, I heard republicans referred to as ignorant, narcissistic, racist, and evil. I overheard that she would prefer that republicans not even come into her establishment, that she'd be happy to kick them out. It was uncalled for, discriminatory, and completely ruined the atmosphere for our dining experience. To clarify, I am not affiliated with either party, Im independent. Regardless, I was truly offended being exposed to the stereotypical degradation of a group of people that she didn't care to know. Just stumbled upon this GEM today!! WOW!!! I’ve driven by many times, but today found myself walking by and decided to stop in. I’m so glad I did! The inside of this sweet cafe is so cool! A very warm and welcoming atmosphere! Lots of seating options inside and out. I tried the apple cake, chocolate bundt cake, chip cookie and chai! All were DELICIOUS! Could not pick a favorite! Although we did take another piece of the apple cake to go :) On top of all of these delightful things, the people that work here are the real treat! Talent Cafe Echo is a welcoming spot with amazing baked goods and a warm, cozy vibe. Denise, the owner, is so nice and is an incredibly talented baker. I had the best scone of my life here! It was so moist! I can’t wait to come back and try some of their savory items next time as the quiche looked really delicious. My London Fog was also very good and so was my spouse’s latte.
