Hey, it's always great to find a casual eatery that serves fresh lobster rolls. What can I say?
It's located at the foot of the pier in Ballast Point Park. It's where Taste of Boston used to be. A place that I never had the pleasure of visiting. All I can say is that Leon's gives you a good amount of lobster for the price. Lobster is expensive in Florida. What I liked the most is that it wasn't overly seasoned with Old Bay. I could actually taste the lobster with the melted butter. I'm not going to compare it to the rolls I've had in New England. There really isn't a way to compare it. If you love fresh lobster, then you'll love this roll. It comes with a bag of kettle chips, but you can get fries for an extra $1. They were crispy, golden, and seasoned very well. It was well worth the upgrade. I'd totally order the same thing again.
There's indoor and outdoor seating. I chose to enjoy my lunch on the covered outdoor patio. It was a hot and humid day, but I couldn't resist the view. There are also tables with big umbrellas that are closer to the pier. There's always a place to sit and eat nearby if you prefer to take it to-go. Even if it's on the pier.
Service is great! I didn't even get to pick up after myself. The nice lady who took my order and delivered it to me just happened to be there to pick it up when I was done.
I'm looking forward to trying the lobster bisque next time. The loaded one looks great in pictures. Although, the whole belly clams basket looks very tempting. It shows whole belly ones on the website menu, but I think the restaurant menu had clam strips. Maybe they are seasonal. I'm also thinking my husband may like the smash burger, or fried grouper. Hopefully I can drag him here with me after a commissary run...
Read moreThe food is great. Unfortunately I drove far and was really excited to arrive when I did the nice older couple in front of me was greeted so kindly with a big smile and all she even offered to give them menus. When it was my turn the lady with older lady with blonde hair at the register said nothing to me while looking at me in my eyes. She grabbed a menu and placed it on the counter. I stood for a second hoping she would speak she didn’t she only said “ Do you know what you want”. She also never asked me what she asked everyone else like do I want a drink, a sided etc. Granted I am the only Brown Girl on the scene but I deserve the same treatment as everyone else. Money is green and has no race so why isn’t my money good enough for the same kind treatment. I am not only a skin color I am human and should always be greeted with kindness. Even after me she was so loud and excited to take the other customers. Super disappointed especially as an educator who cares for all this was sad to see. On my way out she literally dropped my food n walked off....
Read moreI came in expecting good seafood, but what blew me away was the overall experience. I have to give major credit to TIFFANY, the GM. You can tell right away that she runs a tight ship (pun intended). The staff was on point, the energy was upbeat, and the entire place felt like it had real pride behind it.
Tiffany was out on the floor, checking in with tables, laughing with guests, helping her team. Not just managing from the back but leading from the front. That kind of presence makes a huge difference.
The food? Absolutely fire. 🔥🔥🔥 The LOBSTER ROLL is exactly what you'd want from a place with “Lobstah” in the name. Buttery, fresh, and generous with the meat. The CHOWDER was creamy, loaded, and just hit that comfort spot.
It's rare these days to find a place where the vibe, food, and service all line up but Lobstah Shack nailed it. I’m convinced Tiffany is a big reason why. Give that woman a raise, a bonus, or both. She’s the real...
