I tried eating here because of the reviews and it was a total disaster. We arrived just before 7 on a Thursday and stood around for a few minutes before someone told us to sit anywhere. Then we waited 5-10 more minutes to get menus, 5-10 minutes for our drink order to be taken, then another 10-15 minutes to receive our drinks. Once we had them that was it, no refills on water, no offers of additional drinks for the almost 2 hours that we were there.
Once we placed our food order we waited about 40 minutes to get our food.
Only 1 person in 7 got everything that they ordered with nothing left out or incorrect. The vegetarians in our group got a plate of nachos with meat on them despite ordering them without meat. 3 of us didn't get the sauce that we ordered or that comes with the meal. At this point it was after 8pm and we had to wait for another plate of nachos to be made so the vegetarians could have dinner. I got chicken tenders which were the worst meal I've ever paid for. I didn't realize it was possible to mess up chicken tenders so badly. They were flavorless, completely dry, and so tough they were hard to eat. The others in my group got sandwiches which they said were fine, not good, but would have been better with the sauce that was supposed to come on them. The only thing that anyone liked was the onion rings.
The server was friendly but seemed to not have time for our table beyond the bare minimum. At one point we thought "it must be super crowded outside and that's why this is taking so long" so we peeked outside to see a very small crowd. It was a random Thursday, not particularly busy, and we were there for almost 2 hours to get a terrible and yet pretty expensive meal. This was probably the worst dining out experience I've ever had when you consider that every part of it was bad - the food, the wait, the price,...
Read moreVisited Deb's Landing a year ago with my Daughter and her friend. For context, they're mid-twenties and fairly well traveled. We went for breakfast and the place was hopping. The food was great, which didn't surprise us. The staff was on the move. As a former restaurant owner, I can't help but observe the staff as they interact with each other. What I noticed was exemplary teamwork. Busy as they were, they were making it happen. I don't write many reviews yet felt compelled to do so after reading some of the lower rated reviews posted here. Deb' Landing is a local spot brimming with character and New England charm. This is not a chain restaurant. Which means, from time to time, one may have to think for themselves. To, as we sometimes say, figure it out. It would appear that some of the detractors posting here haven't been able to do that. Deb's Landing is well worth the trip, time, and money. If your experience was less than you'd hoped, communicate directly at the time and place where it might actually have an impact on your outcome. That's what I'd do. But hey, there's a reason that places like Denny's...
Read moreIf you like a lot of grease with your breakfast items, this is the place for you. Stopped in about 9:30 am on 9/18/24 since the other really good breakfast spot in town is now closed on Weds. The atmosphere seemed okay. The server was very nice and prompt. However, the cook needs to step up her game! Homefries and bacon were served on a puddle of grease on the plate. Eggs hadn't been scrambled long or hard enough. Instead of being soft, yellow and fluffy, they were white + yellow, then plopped on top of the grease from other items on the plate. The meal included boring wheat sandwich bread. Coffee was tasty. Too bad, this would have been a nice option for an occasional Weds meal. But I won't be back.....cook has no pride in the presentation of what's on the plate. Maybe she wanted to go back to reading...
