This is our second time going to this restaurant a little sad because we weren't able to see Jacqueline and Eric who gave us the greatest experience back in December.
This time we went for Mother's Day even though they were at the other location the food was phenomenal and they only had reservations at this location so our daughter wanted me to make reservations because she causes such an elegant and beautiful restaurant.
She has special needs and everybody there is so kind you're so thoughtful all the girls that were at the front desk and everything or so welcoming as always.
The food portions are so incredible that we ended up splitting our meal because the portions are so big but most of all so delicious in the presentation is just incredible.
We did have a new waiter this day I believe his name was Emmanuel he was a younger gentleman but he was so kind and my daughter stop to place our order so she could have that Independence he listened very carefully and treated her as if she was not just special needs but she was extremely even over me saying it was my Mother's Day.
But that's what made my mother's day so special it's just the kindness the compassion in the love that this restaurant brings to all that come here to eat.
If you have a bad experience sometimes people have bad days. Everything runs perfect but in the end this restaurant will definitely accommodate all your needs because they want you to keep coming back and that speaks volumes to me.
We had a wonderful time where is so excited we haven't been there since December due to work and the travel.
But I wanted to go back like every week how to eat their just due to this wonderful experience we had like I said like the one we had in December in the one we just had for Mother's Day.
We're going to try to schedule a meeting there at least twice a she told everybody how wonderful they were to us.
The most cutest thing was at the end she went to give the check to Emmanuel and she said I would just like to say thank you for being so kind and sweet to my mom on her special Mother's Day.
Emmanuel was holding back the tears I believe she moved him in so many ways that day to really appreciate like all the hard work that they do does pay off with customers like our daughter who has special needs.
She talked about it all day and told all her friends for days after what a wonderful time we had and what a nice waiter we had again.
God bless them in this restaurant their staff and it speaks a lot when you have these experiences at restaurants it says a lot about the owners and we think they're amazing.
Sending so much...
Read moreFood was decent. Service wasn’t too shabby.
We got takeout and it was alright (only because the order was wrong/not as requested despite multiple attempts to ensure any order modifications would be fine).
GM Sylvia was fantastic and corrected the hostess’s and kitchen’s mistake…Sylvia truly is an asset to the La Familia Restaurant chain 👍👍.
Chicken parm was good. The coating on the chicken was like homemade, it was comforting. The marinara sauce has the slightest hint of sweet, so if you’re huge on Italian food like we are and prefer your red sauce savory with a little kick of acidity, this was not as acidic and could’ve used a little salt. Pasta was perfectly cooked al dente 🤌
Alfredo sauce was (very unfortunately) weak, thinner than accustomed to, and flavorless. It was disappointing and really downgraded the dish and excitement. Alfredo could’ve used a heaping dash of salt, so much so that we were left wondering if 1) real Parmesan cheese was utilized to make this Alfredo (the grains of whatever grated cheese was used were not dissolved or properly incorporated into the sauce 2) was light cream utilized instead of heavy cream? The Alfredo was very underwhelming.
The chicken piccata was yummy and flavorful. Could’ve used a little more capers.
The real winners of the meal were the Portuguese stuffies (stuffed quahogs). They were savory perfection. Generously portioned. And had a slight kick of heat (perhaps due to the chorizo?). We definitely think these are the best stuffies in the South...
Read moreI stopped by La Familia in Taunton on a spare of the moment decision coming from an appointment in East Providence. I finally decided to take some pictures of what I was eating, so that others can see exactly why I love La Familia the way I do. For starters I got a basket of onion rings that are awesome ($6.99). I knew I would not eat them all but, figured when I have a burger or a couple hot dogs over the next few days, I can always throw a couple of these in the oven on a baking pan for 10 minutes at 350 and they're delicious all over again. The main course was a large Fettuccine Bolognese ($15.99) with a side of four meatballs ($6.00). I have ordered this in the past and when I bring it home I end up getting three more meals from the leftovers. I also took a picture of the check in case others do not believe what I am saying about the price. Below for the price / person I am going to check off $10 to $20, because I will be eating what I purchased at least three times. The food is absolutely top-notch, and as I have said in other reviews of the same establishment; the servers are usually young people, but professional, friendly and good at what they do. I got to La Familia shortly after it opened on a Saturday and had no trouble finding a parking space. I have a few pictures of my food, but do not find a place to upload the photos. If you found my review helpful, please give me a thumbs up and feel free to check out some of my...
