SAM'S PIZZA 2 — Restaurant in Taunton

The email and the form on your website does not work. On 6/5/24, I placed my first order with you of 4 subs. It was delicious! The subs were filled completely and put together well. Yesterday, 6/19, we decided to try something new from your restaurant. We got 2 fish and chips, a buffalo chicken calzone and an Italian sub (which I had originally ordered the first time, too). I was disappointed, to say the least. The Italian sub was nothing like the first time I ordered. It was mostly bread, barely anything in it, mostly lettuce and it tasted horrible and they forgot to put the mayo that I requested. The fish and chips, weren't even enough to feed a kid, let alone an adult. Two tiny pieces that looked like it was taken out of a Gordon's frozen fish box. It was NOT delicious at all. It was nasty and smelled fishy. The calzone was mostly bread. Couldn't really taste the little chicken that was in it. It was not good. What happened? Did you get a new cook? It wasn't that you guys were busy because there were several employees there and only myself and another person picking up an order. The first time I ordered, there was only one person, a male, and it was delicious. I'm really disappointed and frustrated that we ordered food and were not able to eat it or enjoy it. I'm surprised that you have a 4.8 star review rate, unless they were all written when you first open, as my first experience was good, but my second experience was horrible.

And the free pizza that we got for spending $55, it was rubbery and gross.

I ordered a couple of sheet pizzas and needed them for before noon on a Sunday and they were able to get that done. That effort is much appreciated.

The parking lot it is unclear where to park. I'm sure at one point there were parking lines, but they are long gone as of the time of this review. I just parked next to the person working that came through for me.

Atmosphere - on the inside, there is a section completely closed off. It may be undergoing some renovation, it's unclear. There are some recessed lights hanging out a little.

Pizza was pretty good. I prefer a thicker/spicier sauce, but the pizza was cooked well and everyone did enjoy it. I've gotten take out from here a number of times and dishes other than pizza and always enjoyed the food. I hate to take away a star on food because I prefer a different style sauce on my pizza, but apparently its that or lie and say it was a 5 star pizza for MY preferences.

It is not my first time going there. In fact, I wrote an earlier review based on previous experience.

The place fascinates me. It's a little quaint and homey. If you're in the age range (most of us baby boomers), families were large and the dining area was a most important space. We treasured "the special family meals" and looked forward to being with family and friends.

The family gatherings of yore usually had simple fare with various members contributing their favorites.

Simon says has a much more eclectic menu and you order from a menu, although an old-time deli board posts everything.

The offerings are amazing. You get, "a lot of bang" for your buck.

I had the strawberry waffles and Bacon. My aunt had the blueberry pancakes and sausage. We were both satisfied.

They also have an extensive luncheon/dinner menu. Can't say that I've taken advantage.
