By far the worst experience i’ve had at a restaurant in a long time. Sat down at 11:10, was not greeted by a single staff member until 11:45. It was understandably busy due to it being Father’s Day. For how many large parties there were, only one server was on the floor. She handled the customers well for only being one person, however we cannot give her credit since she never gave us her name. We ordered our drinks and food right away after the already long wait and looking up the menu online. After we got our drinks, we waited almost an hour to receive our food. Within that time, the server did not check on us nor did she refill any of our drinks. Two groups that arrived after us were greeted right away and were given their food before us. I ordered the avocado toast, to my surprise it did not look like how it was depicted on the menu. On their menu it states “ Smashed avocado, arugula, red pepper rings, lemon zest, and roasted garlic oil on two slices of ciabatta bread”. I was served three small slices of cold bread, uneven portions of avocado, no arugula, and handfuls of green pepper throw on top. I was not informed that their kitchen had run out of the red pepper until I had asked if this was all that came on the avocado toast, once the food was plated in front of me. When I asked the server if I was given the correct order, I was met with an odd look, then was told “ Give me one moment ”. She returned with a small plate containing a few pieces of arugula, a small sauce cup with lemon juice, and more handfuls of green pepper. Only then did she inform me that they didn’t have red pepper and substituted this with green pepper. This was a very disappointing experience to say the least. I truly did want to look past the long wait times but the poor customer service, lack of communication, and sad excuse for avocado toast was the final straw for me. Unfortunately this was my first and last time visiting...
Read moreI have to start by saying that I have been a long time lover of JP McGuire's, but this place was a bit of a let down.
For the experience:
The pros: Service - staff was great, server checked on us several times, and the bartender was even pleasant in telling us to have a great night, even though we die not converse throughout our experience, so that was nice.
Cons: Two of the foods we originally asked for were out; both salmon and mashed potatoes. It was a Sunday night and not at all busy. Maybe 4 or 5 other guests total. I do understand that you can run out of food, but on our first visit, it was strange.
The food: I got a tomahawk pork chop. The flavor wasn't bad, the chop itself was very tender, so I enjoyed that. The appetizers were great. We got waffle fries and pretzel nugs. I wasn't sold on the bacon jam though, but that may just be personal preference. If you're a fan of it, I'd give it a try at least. The chicken sandwich was cooked well, but did not have much flavor on it, and we had to doctor it up a bit.
Overall, great customer service, but food was lacking, especially for it not being...
Read moreGood vibe in this place. Everyone seems to be doing their own thing and are and accepting crowd. Struck up a conversation with a couple as we sat down. They have a few places outdoors for larger get-togethers and a large booth for doing the same indoors.
Food is excellent and inexpensive, drinks are the same. To be honest I’d put them as a middle tier bar but there’s nothing wrong with not everybody trying to cater to the craft cocktail crowd. Especially with these prices. Not too loud also, you can definitely hear yourself think. Large flat screens on EVERY wall (well, except the hallways and bathrooms, obviously). You’re not gonna miss the game WHEREVER you sit. Hilarious graphic of the IPA beers menu on one flat screen made up to look like a stock report (with trends and whatnot) so someone there has a sense of humor. Staff keeps a move on, you shouldn’t have trouble getting drink refills. Oh, also they do the brunch thing on Sundays. Good food there, they’re also not going overboard on the...
