Salerno's Tavern — Restaurant in Taylor

Me & some friends decided to check out Salernos Tavern on Van Born for lunch yesterday, and It was the WORST experience. From the time we walked in we were met with dirty looks, the entire place has a very unwelcoming vibe. The waitress seemed nice at first, until we sent back an order of mini tacos.. then we became an issue. The mini tacos were EMPTY shells with no filling. I’m sorry, why would we pay for that? Where was the filling that was advertised? The lovely lady that was sitting by the door (not sure of her affiliation) was screaming at the guy next to her that she was going to kill him during this mind you. But her tantrum was interrupted when the waitress slammed the unfilled tacos we sent back in front of her, then the screaming turned towards us with this woman going on about how THEY ARE FROZEN TACOS FROM A BAG SO WHAT IF THEY ARE EMPTY. And blatantly mocking us… the paying customers.

This place has only been open a handful of weeks, maybe 3 months tops including soft openings.. But it is a great place! It has a beautiful dining room setting, blended with a sports bar atmosphere that just makes perfect sense. The bar is easy to view from any standpoint, and the garage door access near the bar games makes it very easy to enjoy a smoke legally and still be part of your party that's shooting pool , OR darts! Our cook was a pretty rad, polite southern gent with a serious metal streak about him, and he was there to ask about the meal with kindness and care after it was served. This place has serious upside. It is READY for mulitiple familes. Beautiful, private booths, seperate tables, TVS everywhere, and it's so clean! Terrible experience went in for wings waited 25 mins outside when I went back in the bartender told me the chef was on stage singing and playing the guitar and that he was about to start my food I sat there another 5 mins for him to finish his performance and go straight into the kitchen and grab my wings out of the fridge with his bare hands I cancelled my order and my time was wasted after a 12 hour shift just for everything else to be closed as a cook the first thing you should be doing before you walk in a kitchen and touch anything is wash your...
