The tapioca pearls looked like they have mold growing on them. This is the "Lychee Bubble Tea". The flavor is like heavy mango but I couldn't drink anymore after I saw some of them floating covered in white slime. We called and asked and were told they "make their tapioca in house and it sometimes gets that snotty look on it. It is the tapioca melting and is completely normal." I haven't been able to find anything that says it is a normal thing. So far I've found the following:
Overcooked or Under-soaked Pearls: Pearls that are overcooked can break down, causing them to float and develop a slimy texture. Properly cooked pearls should sink and remain chewy.
Starch Gelatinization: Tapioca pearls are made from starch, and if they sit in liquid for too long, the starch can gelatinize and create a film, making the pearls float and look unappealing.
Contamination: Pearls that were not stored properly can develop an off texture and appearance due to microbial growth or chemical reactions.
It would have been nice to be offered the money back for the tea, but there could be confusion I haven't been made aware of yet. If I hear back with peer reviewed research on it's preparation I would be happy try them out again so as to rate the entire meal fairly. I wasn't able to eat it because, honestly, I read the pearls can cause food poisoning and the chicken on my plate started...
Read moreI'm disappointed in their food. We ordered a variety of dishes. The sesame chicken looked like never had vegetables in my sesame chicken other than just broccoli. This sesame chicken had corn, carrots and broccoli. It was like a stir fried dish, and the portion was so small. I'm not sure if they used the vegetables to make up for the meat portion. The pad thai was not your typical pad thai dish. Meat was limited in the dish, the flavor wasnt flavorful but it was eatable. The kapong tasted like it was water down. The papaya was alright, nothing special. The eggrolls was ok, the spring rolls can be better and maybe better with hoisin peanut sauce. The crispy roll was not crispy all at, it was not fried long enough, part of the wrapper was still soggy and it was very oily. The pho broth was pretty decent, we ordered an XL. It can in a extra bowl but the noodle was so little it was only covered in alot of broth. The veggies for the pho was not fresh. You can tell the basil and bean sprouts have been seating out. Overall it was a 1st time experience. I will not return and I will not recommend. However the staff was very nice, friendly,...
Read moreTried out this restaurant. Unfortunately the spring rolls where bland and way to moist, both the rice and the wrap were way to wet. The peanut butter sauce was all liquid, not creamy. We had a beef pho and a seafood pho. Both were extremely salty… and not piping hot. The bean sprout plate was smaller than any pho restaurant I have been to. The price was same as any other pho The portions of protein where small quantity. The green tea was very Luke warm. If I was the owner or the chef, I would make some menu items and test the taste every few days. There was nobody in the restaurant, when the only server brought the food, she didn’t even know what pho we had ordered. There was...
