We brought a large group of 20 for dinner to the Front Porch. My choice of entree, Whiskey Glazed Pork Tenderloin, was bland and flavorless. (I left two of four not-so-tender loins on my plate.) My wife got the Grilled Salmon with Mojito Butter. Oddly, her salmon was equally as bland and flavorless as the pork. The other three at our table had steak. Those seemed to be OK. The waiter was good. It was a hot day and the air-conditioner was not working. The worst part of the experience was the attitude of the man whom I assume was the owner. When our group arrived at the time of our reservation, we found that we had not been made aware that the group would be served upstairs. As we had two handicapped individuals, we asked to be accommodated downstairs. We were ushered into the bar, which was fine and appreciated. However, despite there being plenty of room and three, 4-person tables available, the man commanded that only five would be allowed in this sub-group. We hadn't said anything about a particular number. So, it was odd to be hit with a crappy, bossy attitude from a person whose chosen vocation demands hospitality - particularly in a small, rural town, where smiles and pleasantries are everywhere along...

A dear friend and I have been planning a lunch since we both retired in December 2020. With him living in Bristol VA and myself living in Beckley WV, Tazewell VA was our half way point. After I called and talked to Toney, we decided to meet at the Front Porch. Sharon Osborne (I told you Sharon, I could remember that name) showed us to our table and introduced the menu. Danny and I decided on the catfish and shrimp. I had the chowder while Danny had the potato soup. While I will admit that I am partial to wonderful hospitality and great food, 😄, this whole experience was just perfection. I’ve been blessed by having experienced catfish and shrimp all over the country, but now I just have to drive to Tazewell to get it. I also had some chocolate thing pictured that I can’t pronounce, but I sure knew how to eat it! We appreciated the chef coming out to check on us. Thank you Toney, Sharon, and Chef (sorry I didn’t catch your name..I’ll get it next time) for making our “reunion...

Friday, April 19th, 2024 early lunch party of 3 $45+$9 tip

Street parking (free up to 2 hours Monday-Friday 8am and something on the lovely historical Main Street

Has immediate B&B vibes, loverly story of the property on what is was, how it came to be and why and what it is today

no wait, seated immediately and served in a timely fashion

The service team were extremely pleasant, welcoming, knowledgeable, informative, good energy, on top of their game Bacon and fries nice and crispy (good fresh oil was used), pretzel bread was used for the sandwich which was nice and soft, chicken quesadillas were huge, fresh and delicious, chicken salad sandwich was light, fresh and devoured

We enjoyed our experience and wish nothing but continued success to the owners, management and overall chef and service team especially the hostess

Thanks...

Went to eat a late lunch/early dinner before the Christmas parade. We were seated quickly and served in a timely manner. Fries were excellent, my son said the grilled cheese wasn't great, but it did suffice and was ok. My daughter and I got the same burger (The Irma, I believe) and asked for no tomatoes and to be well done, which means to me, no pink in the meat. What we got were burnt burgers with tomatoes. They didn't taste good since that's all we could taste. I did tell the waitress, and she did get us newly made burgers. They were really good the second time, still had the tomatoes which we took off. I don't like being wasteful, but sometimes it happens. Staff was pleasant, and the place was clean, I would eat here again.
