I really wanted to like this place. But it was small and cramped, not super friendly. Not unfriendly, just more like oh, hey, I guess you're here. But, my husband ordered a decaf. They had the whole pour-over set up, and then scooped Folgers in. $4 for a cup of Folgers coffee. Ummmm. What coffee shop doesn't buy good coffee beans?? Then out on the counter, there is only Splenda, no sugar. And Splenda vanilla creamer. So my husband who doesn't touch that junk starts putting in the Splenda cream, and I stopped him and told him to ask the lady for regular cream. Which she gave him, but by then it was too late. It tasted awful, he had to throw it away. Even if he was willing to ask for a new one, who's gonna wait another 10 minutes for another Folgers...

The staff are extremely sweet and welcoming, the space is GORGEOUS and brings in a lot of comfort and it's not overwhelming like some coffee shops can be. The menu is easy to follow and if you have questions, the staff can help you and make friendly suggestions. Read moreMy husband and I recently visited Tazwell VA for a few days. For starters a must visit is The Well Coffee Shop. Wonderful coffee and food. We were fortunate enough to meet the Owner and her family who have deep roots in the area. We rented the Loft across the street and it is a wonderful place to stay. Shout out to Kendall who Pet sat our dog while we went on the Back of the Dragon. Finn loved her!
