The Patio Steak House — Restaurant in Tell City

Updated 4/27/2022 Home style food great service and very affordable. The food on the buffet was hot and stayed filled up. My problem with this place is the management. Over the holidays we purchased 4 gift certificates of 25 dollars each. We went to eat there Sunday our meal totaled 32 dollars. We gave the waitress 2 certificates for a total of 50 dollars. After sitting there for a long time waiting on change or a gift card or a certificate for the difference. Instead the waitress came back and said thank you have a nice day. I ask her about the difference. She said there was no way to give the difference on the certificates and we would have to pay 50$ for a 32$ meal. I told her to bring back one of the certificates and I would pay the difference on my debit card. After sitting there another long period of time she came back. This time in a condescending attitude ,scolded us like we were children. She said that next time remember that we can't get change back on certificates. She then handed us 18 dollars in cash. We should have been made aware of this when we paid and given the option of paying the difference with cash or card. They do not have to worry about us coming back to their restaurant. I just wished the technology was there so this doesn't happen to anyone else. I guess it really is they just choose not to use it. drove over an hour to eat Valentine's dinner at Patio. We have eaten here several times with good food and service. After tonight, we will not be back. I found a hair in my salad after taking one bite! The waitress took it without apology and stated she would get another. Obviously, I do not want another, and at that point, I was not offered a different side. I get my meal, take a few bites of my oversalted pork chop, take one bite of German potatoes, and find a small black curly hair. Get the waitress who responds. I checked those for hair before I gave them to you. Really?!? So had they found it, would they have just pulled it out and served it anyway? When she takes it, another lady comes out to state she did not see the hair on the potatoes but did see the one in the salad and ask what I was after, a discount. I did not drive over an hour to take a few bites of food !!! I’d much rather of enjoyed my meal and date night. When the waitress returned with my $5.00 discounted bill for a meal I did not eat, I asked if the lady that came out was the manager, and she replied that she's the owner. It is understandable that hairs and such may occasionally get into food, but being treated like a liar or that I'm after a free meal by both the waitress and owner is not acceptable, which is why we will not...

Just visited the Patio for the first time this evening. Hubby and I were craving a buffet and didn't want to pay cab fare to Owensboro for Golden Corral. Looked up "all you can eat" on Google Maps and found the Patio. I think we've found our new favorite dinner place. Just over the Cannelton city limit it's close to our house. We got there right as the dinner buffet opened. Everything was fresh, plates and silverware were spotless, restaurant is clean and smells like heaven with fresh dinner rolls. Servers are very sweet and attentive. Ours checked on us often and was very friendly and kind. Other servers always checked our table when walking past even though we weren't in their section which is a level of service you rarely see anymore. The food is delicious. Good southern home cooking. Everything, I mean EVERYTHING is homemade. You have to try the hand battered fish. It's absolutely perfect and with homemade tartar sauce to boot! Yum!
