We go to Dennys often including Lakeland, Mulberry, and Winter Haven and they are always very good. We went here this time because it was close to where we were at the time. It was cold out. We pull in and there is an old SUV with two very tiny kids in it, I mean toddler size. When we go in I tell the person who sits you and another lady a few feet away said oh, their daddy works here and he is with them. I said "no he's not, they were alone" and she said nothing else. We get seated and place our orders. I had the ultimate omelet, husband ultimate omelette, granddaughter jr grand slam, son flamin 5 pepper burger, daughter in law lumbarjack slam plus drinks. I notice right away the 3 meals that were to have toast did not. Waited about 5 min until she came back and told her. She went to tell the cook, a black gentleman, and he started yelling at her she should have written it down (so the cooks have nothing to tell them what the order was?). She brings the junior grandslam and goes back. She apologizes for the argument. She was very nice but very nervous. We notice no syrup for the pancakes. Keep in mind it was NOT busy, we were the second booth. We tell her and she brings it. I first noted my husband's toast was burned. Mine didn't look burned but was hard as a rock, like stale bread. Granddaughter didn't even eat hers and she loves toast. Then I notice my eggs were overcooked to the point they had that crisp layer and they all stick together. Daughter-in-law notices her pancakes are burned as well. When she brings the bill and it's the normal, right at $80. I show her (nicely) what is wrong with the food. She apologizes and says she doesn't know if the manger is there or not (seriously?). In a bit the manager comes over, looks over the food and says she will comp the bill 20% - I said are you serious? The food was only tasted and you can see the obvious problems. She walks off. A white lady comes out from behind the stand and apologizes for them and says they have been told to go outback and fight it out and that they can't keep people there. This was 10:40 pm. This was the #1 worst place ever ever ever. We leave and the two toddlers are still in the vehicle ALONE and it's cold and the windows are fogged up and wet. A person outside...
Read moreGreeted kindly by Sherry, not sure of our server's name, no name tag, our receipt states C. Azul. The floor where my family and I were seated was extremely sticky from syrup, there was a crayon in the middle of the area where we were seated, which I nearly slipped on. The restaurant was very hot, there were random chairs in the middle of the dining room but there was not a table. The food was good, I ordered the T-bone steak had fries and mac/cheese. The server took a while to refill drinks or check on our table. Proceeded to checkout, could not use the discounts AARP or AAA. Our server accidentally cashed out the ticket so my family and I could not use the discounts, nor split the bill. Linda was very accommodating, she gave us a 5.00 cash discount, made offers of two free breakfasts and 20% off our bill upon a return visit. Very generous Linda, thank you! Thank you to the other server Sherry, the only one wearing a name tag btw, she too was very kind for stepping in and trying to help our server fix the problem. Over all, we'll be back, the food was good, thanks to the cook for his part. Our server also did not inform us of our to-go order being ready, that was the reason we continued to sit and chat, we were waiting on the order to be completed, Final thought, all though our server had some bad points, her demeanor was nice, thank you for her service, but..... all though very beautiful our server's nails were way too long for the food industry, not appropriate when...
Read moreIf I could have given no stars I would have! What a bad experience. We had a nice waitress who was doing the best with what was a terribly managed and badly staffed restaurant. Firstly she says there is no bacon or hash browns (on a Sunday afternoon). The food took ages to arrive, which we did not say anything about. One part of my mam's meal didn't arrive until after she was finished (it was not busy). Mine was supposed to have two chicken strips, there was one chicken strip and one dry, crusty mozzarella stick that had no mozzarella in it. The waitress asked the kitchen for another chicken strip, I took a bite of the one I had and it was cold. Quickly enough I was given two more chicken strips, bit one and it was warmer, not hot, but better, continued eating and only when I took a second bite I realized the chicken was RAW, not underdone, not rare, RAW. It turned my stomach. The waitress was attentive and informed the manager but he barely looked up at her and never approached the table to apologize. The waitress had my meal removed from the bill but the manager was so rude and unprofessional and clearly was not managing anything about the restaurant. To top it off the ceiling in the bathroom was leaking and dripping on me. Ruined my day in Busch Gardens and at a concert that night, did not get on one ride/attraction, could not eat for the...
