My family and I have ordered here many, many times. Sometimes multiple orders per week over the past two and a half years. Previously, I have given a perfect 5 star rating. But last night was an absolute disaster with this restaurant. It was so bad that I have to remove two stars from this one experience. Here is the story: We had just arrived back in town after a messy holiday flight schedule. Two cancelled flights later we arrived back in Tampa just before 9pm. My family and I were craving a delicious meal so we placed a to go order for two curries and a biryani entree. We arrived at the restaurant just before 9:30 to pick up our order. Upon arriving the gentleman at the front desk asked my name. After giving my name he went to the kitchen to gather the order. He came back empty handed and said “your order was cancelled because it came in after 9PM” I was shocked and responded by telling him their restaurant hours are open until 10pm. I had not received any notification he order was cancelled. AND they still had a restaurant full of +25 people eating dinner. At this time the manager/owner came over and he recognized me. The manager apologized to me and said to push the order through even though it was now 9:30. I really appreciated that and was willing to remain patient while the order was prepared at that time. I read the items in the order back to him and at this time he responded “we are sold out of these items and that is why your order was cancelled” Now I felt completely disrespected. First I was told the kitchen was closed. Now the reason is they are sold out of all items except appetizers. They did not bother to call and tell me the order was cancelled just after 9pm. So we drove 30 minutes out of our way to pick up an order that never existed. I hope a manager will see this review and make it right. Their food is delicious and we would like to continue supporting this...
Read moreI would formally like to thank every person who makes Hyderabad Biryani House a reality. I have never had such delicious, fresh, and authentic Indian food until I came here. There is a wait sometimes, and it is a wait that I am thankful for. I graciously wait because I know it is a necessity for the highest quality food at its freshest possible state. If you want your food to come out quickly, and you are impatient, then you can go to any of the other Indian restaurants that most likely make their curries and sauces in mass quantity and then reheat them for days afterwards. You will never have this unpalatable experience at Hyderabad Biryani House. The Indian coffee is not on the menu, but it is quite tasty and worth asking for. The mutton/goat comes on the bone, but is more meat than bone. The last Indian restaurant I went to was in West Palm Beach, and there was definitely more bone than meat. The Dam Chicken Biryani was to die for. The chicken literally fell off the bone. The paneer was moist and fresh, unlike the rubbery texture that you find all too often at other Indian eateries. The Gobi Manchurian was flavorful and crispy. The samosas were quite spicy, but worth the temporary pain because they were so delicious...nothing a little bit of Mango Lassi can't handle, anyway. We also got Mutton Qaday (spelling?), which was a nice alternative to the Mutton Curry that I always get. Having Halal meet is certain the cherry on the top, so to speak. Enjoy this God's gift to humanity, giving us all a little taste of Hyderabad here in Tampa. I went again a week after writing this original review to try the Mutton Biryani.... I can't believe how much meat they give you! It is at least five dollars less than all of the other Indian places I've been to, and with twice the amount of meat. Please...
Read moreI wish I could go lower than 1 star, this has been one of the worst restaurant experience throughout my time in the United States.
The employees at this restaurant are extremely rude, need to learn to treat customers the right way. We being a group of 5 reached the restaurant at 9:00pm and approached the lady at the counter, we weren’t even allowed to be seated before placing the order. The minimum that you would expect after reaching a restaurant would be, to be seated and provided with a menu card to decide which wasn’t done here and we tried to be understanding and placed the order at the counter. After placing the order in 10 minutes we were finally given a table to sit at (despite the restaurant being empty) We weren’t even informed that the restaurant would be closing by 10, they informed us that the kitchen would close at 10, but after 5-7 minutes the lady at the counter comes to the table and says “guys out by 10 pm” (without being served the food) this is extremely rude and encourages the staff to continue this erratic behaviour with the customers. I would never recommend going to this restaurant until the staff is replaced/ changes their way of treating customers, unless you would want to experience the worst customer experience first hand.
To top it off after this, we told them that they should’ve informed us prior, to this the same lady responded that we can leave and she does not care about it. It doesn’t matter if the food is good, the customer experience goes hand in hand with it. The way we were ill-treated, really hurts me to write such a painful review.
Personal opinion: Do not go there if you want to be insulted, and pay for...
