Noticed Leah's one day while pickup lunch at hungry Howie's. I walked in and the food looked good so I vowed to get lunch there one day. Two weeks later that day came and I walked into a restaurant with one table occupied and one customer preparing his carry out. The lady behind the food bins was on the phone and stirring food so I walked up looking curiously at the menu but I didn't see anything saying lunch so I look around even more. A man maybe in his 70's was cleaning table and he looked at me without a word. Meanwhile the lady on the phone walked out of site and at this moment im standing at the counter not knowing what to do. Do I get a container? Lunch special? Combos or what. I turned around to the occupied table and from their expressions I think they felt my frustration so I just turned and walked out without seeing the man or the lady again. Good businesses at least acknowledge customers upon entry even if you can't help them right away. Is this a good business? Idk but from what I got from my first experience I won't ever find out because it's no longer a place I...
Read moreMy husband and myself have eaten several great lunches in this delightful family Cuban cafe. Recently we asked them to cater for us as we hosted a large family wedding for 150 people at our home. The owner, Yassir was so nice and professional to work with as we talked together about the menu and made all the arrangements for Leah's Cafe to deliver the food for our event. We ordered Ropa Vieja, Mojo Chicken and Cuban Roast Pork along with yellow rice and black beans. Oh my goodness , is their food GOOD !! Roast Pork especially, is the best we have ever had. Authentic Cuban food that is seasoned and cooked beautifully. We have Cuban family that came in for the party and everyone raved about the food ! It arrived just as we ordered, Yassir delivered early as he knew that I was nervous about the time, and was just so kind and considerate during the entire process of making the plans for our catering. Not only do I highly recommend Leah's Cafe for a fabulous authentic lunch, but also highly recommend them catering to events, big or small !...
Read moreWAIT FOR IT.... I wasn't expecting much because, quite frankly, I prefer my home cooking to other Latin places. And now, after trying Leah's Cafe for the first time, I regret it! IT IS SO DELICIOUS!!! Very flavorful! The pork melts in your mouth and bursting with flavor. The rice and beans are just like my mom's used to make... So darn good. So, my regret is that I will return so often, my wasteline will surely expand. (which means I have to work it off. Thank goodness for boyfriends. LOL) Plus, the music was exactly what's on my Latin playlist. But, above it all, the staff is super nice and friendly. I already feel like family! If you haven't tried this "hole in the wall", I genuinely, highly recommend it! You will be so very happy you did. Oh, did I mention the portions! Just like my brothers expect. Hungry man's portion. I challenged myself to finish it all, but I just couldn't, in spite of my valient effort. So, now, I have a prepared meal for tonight's dinner. Thank you Leah's Cafe! You...
