Sunday after church come to this restaurant with my 4 kids and my father to enjoy a nice lunch and have my kids loose in their outdoor space but since we arrived the service was bad. Firstly I asked twice to be seated outside so they kids could have fun and they didn't hear me. I had to tell the waitress when she was guiding us to our table "no I want outside please". Excuse was the outdoor under roof area was full and I told them we'll be okay in a umbrella table because rain is not coming till later and we'll be okay. We sat on a 4 person table with an umbrella and I had to ask will it be okay to move another square table next to us for the kids to eat when food arrives? The waitress was like sure but did not make a move to move the table and chairs so I had to do it myself and one of my 8 year old girls. After a few we ordered our drinks and an entre but unfortunately the sun came out and the umbrella was not enough for my fathers skin due to him having Vitiligo and cannot endure the sun directly. At this point I asked if we could please be moved to one of the two long picnic table that was being cleaned but they said both were saved for another family so I asked we'll how about we sit in a square one in the corner but under the roof for my dad's sake but they said we'll ask the manager. Once the lady help of manager came she said to me that we had told you the outdoor tables were not available and it was your decision to sit in the outdoor we cannot help you. At this point I got so mad that I said we are leaving. This restaurant was not interested in giving us customer service from the moment we entered. Also the excuse the manager helper telling me I was the one that said we will be okay outdoors and they couldn't help us! was uncalled, rude and not very customer service like. Very disappointed because it is near my home and I loved the outdoor open patio for my 4 kids to play until food was in but so disappointed that I don't see myself going to this...
Read moreMy fiance and I hadn’t had a date night in forever so we traveled from Roane County to try this place (about 45 mins) with our 6 month old. We got there and ordered an appetizer and I got a helles. I was disappointed the beer was basically room temperature but the fried pickles were amazing! Probably the best I’ve ever had. We ordered our food and waited. And waited. And waited. And waited. Others came in and were served as we just kept waiting. Our server finally passed by us and quickly told us that our food had been given to another table by mistake and they were remaking ours. So we were like ok no big deal thinking probably just wait another 5 minutes or so and it’ll be out. She came out and brought us a plate of cold French fries and said her manager said to give these to us and make sure we were good. We nibbled on them a bit but they were cold and just not good. So we waited longer and longer and longer, all the people who came in way after us were already eating and by this point we had been waiting for our food for an hour and our 6 month old was getting upset so we asked the server to have them box our food to go and bring our check. $50 spent on a date night we didn’t really even get to have, and our food was cold by the time we got home because we had traveled so far to try the place. We did heat it up and it was very good which is the only reason I didn’t give one star. We are usually very generous tippers and very grateful for service and we understand things happen, as food service workers are busy and it’s a stressful environment and wires get crossed and they work hard etc etc, but it didn’t seem like they cared much. Our dinner was given to someone else and we just nibbled on cold fries. I don’t think we will ever be back to dine in, but I would still maybe order to-go as the food was great. It probably would’ve been even better fresh on the table. So use caution if you expect great service, go for it if you...
Read moreToday I tried Corner16 for the first time. I wasn’t impressed. There wasn’t anyone to seat us when we walked in so a man that I’m assuming was a manager of some sort saw us from afar and jumped up to get us. He looked us up and down and must’ve felt we weren’t classy enough to be there. He asked about seating preferences and I said a booth would be ideal for our group that included two children. He told us we were lucky that they had two booths left although there were many tables available. He immediately tried to sell us on the idea of sitting outside under heaters and told us our kids could play out there and walked us out to see it. I didn’t see any of the toys he claimed were out there. It was freezing and my mom said it was too cold and we wanted to eat inside. It was far too cold for young children. He finally sat us at a booth. I couldn’t find anything on the menu that excited me so I ordered a salad, sandwich and side. It was OK at best. The servers act like they have something to be snobby about but they certainly don’t. The food was subpar and the service wasn’t much better. Halfway through our meal our server vanished. I went to ask the host if we could pay up front and he told us to wait for our server. She must’ve saw us because she came barreling out of the back saying she was in the middle of a meeting. Patrons should come before meetings. You wouldn’t have meetings without patrons. I was so happy to get out of there and don’t have plans to return. The only positive things I can say would be that the restaurant/bar has a nice rustic look to it and they did have an allergen menu. Other than that it wasn’t a...
