I recently accompanied a couple coworkers for lunch. We checked out the menus & as I was reviewing the multitude of additional menu items posted, I saw the daily special: chicken casserole, mashed potatoes, green beans & biscuit for $7.99. To whet my appetite, a plate of the special was on the counter awaiting a server to deliver it. I pointed out the special to one of the guys & a minute later, our server appeared to take our orders. I went to point at the special, but it was gone. It took me a minute to find a menu item to order & some time later, our food was brought out. I ended up with a burger - which was good, but couldn't fill that craving for the chicken casserole I had prepared myself for. To make matters worse, while we were eating, a single diner came in & sat at the table behind us. He inquired about the special & somehow, it was available to him. Although I appreciated that the food was tasty, their trick with the special was not appreciated a bit. I will probably dine here again, but it'll take a while for the sting of the special...
Read moreI have been here several times now so I am able to give an honest and full opinion/evaluation. Generally, the food here is simple and very home style. The menu is not long but covers the basics for a quick lunch or breakfast. I have no complaints about the food or service. The staff are always wonderful and always had a seat available. Don't expect your food instantly or some fancy dessert however you will find good food priced fairly served by very nice people. This is one of my favorite lunch spots in the area.
UPDATE: The grilled chicken is back!!! May I suggest adding a sliced grilled chicken to a BLT. All the wonderful joy of a BLT but filling like a chicken sandwich. Very yummy!!
NOTE - I was informed it is much cheaper to add bacon to the chicken sandwich opposed to getting...
Read moreAs always I enjoy leaving a great review for a great experience. I would encourage anyone looking for that "fast food" substitute to try out Finish Line Diner. Word of warning - food is cooked to order - padded out hamburger and cooked after you order it! - If you want it faster - order a number 1 at a local drive thru! With that said - best burger ever - my favorite is the Bacon Cheese Burger - fries are to hot to eat because they time the drop along with the cook time of the burger. Cheerwine in the bottle. Great service - great staff - treat you like family.
Again - to enjoy you must have some time. I prefer the sit down - the take out experience is just as good!...
